Canon MP560 has error code 6C10. What di I do?

There is no fix for this error code. I called canon support and was told it's a "fatal" error and the machine had to be serviced. Since it was under warranty they sent me a replacement and I sent back the broken unit. Canon paid for postage both ways.

Error 6c10

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

Error 6c10 is ink absorber problem.You need to reset Printer Canon ink absorber. For this Follow the steps given below
  • Start with printer off
  • Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click "Power" button. Green led should be on
  • While holding the Power button, release the Resume Button.
  • Without releasing the Power Button, click "Resume" button for two times and release Both Buttons.
  • Click "Resume" for four times then soon click "Power" button, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber).
  • Turn off the printer and turn on again
Error will be removed
If the problem exist then then go to Canon authorized service facility for repair. You can also get support by Canon by phone, at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666)

It's probably a waste absorber issue.

A fix from FixYa Support:
  1. Start with printer off
  2. Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click "Power" button. Green led should be on

  4. Without releasing the Power Button, click "Resume" button for two times and release Both Buttons.
  5. Click "Resume" for four times then soon click "Power" button, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber).
  6. Turn off the printer and turn on again

I just changed an ink cartridge on my mp560 canon printer. now that im trying to print its says theres a printer error 6C10

If you have used the printer over 6,500 copies then the ink pads below the cartridges will be full and need replacing all printers will stop and give a warning to this effect it can be reset using a secret menu if you have an LCD control panel use my Brother DCP-340CW solution
