I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy that has around 93,000 miles on it. The last oil change was 2 weeks ago. Today, on a trip on the interstate, I pulled off to have dinner. When I left the restaurant and started my car, everything seemed fine. I put the car in reverse with no problem. When I put the car in drive and hit the accelerator, the car would not go forward. I tried this a couple of times. I then put the car in park and got out to feel under the accelerator pedal to see if it was stuck or if something had gotten under it. I wiggled it and then got back in the car. It went into drive right away. I was afraid that it would stick and drove under 70mph on the highway to my home. Any suggestions?

If the trucks engine rev'd up when you first put the gas pedal down, but didn't go anywhere then it was probably in neutral (not drive as you thought). If it was in drive and still didn't go anywhere but engine still rev'd up then its a transmission issue or PRNDL switch at the side of the tranny. I can't see anything relating to the gas pedal by NOT reving up the engine when it was pressed down. I wouldn't suspect a throttle cable issue. Check the tranny fluid while truck is running in park, see if the fluid is badly burnt or low on the dipstick. If it looks good I would have the PRNDL switch checked. (Park Reverse Neutral Drive and Low) switch.

Can a 2 wheel drive oil filter for a gmc jimmy work on a 4 wheel drive gmc jimmy?

I would use recommended filter pressure could be different and could possibly cause an issue not to mention filter media area coverage imo.

1999 jimmy odometer stopped working

My guess would be a bad connection at the harness for the cluster, or a problem with the printed circuit board inside the cluster.

2000 GMC SIERRA 2500 LIFTER NOISE

Try a cup of tranny fluid, Dextron, or whatever, in the crankcase. Or there are lots of lifter products at your local part store. I would certainly try that first. I assume your oil has been changed recently, and the level is good. You don't have to pull the heads, but you do have to remove the intake, and valve covers.

'92 GMC PU has low oil pressure

With that kind of maintenace pump and bearings should be ok,the oil pressure sending units get weak on these models I have replaced alot of these for this same condition. The check engine light reads its voltage from the sensor.

My car has the oil light on

First - did you use the correct viscosity - SAE spec ?
Using a thiner oil can affect oil pressures.
Presuming that you did, and oil levels are ok, then I would check if this is a standard service light come one. They are programmed to light after a certain milage since the last change - and this seems likely if you have just done it (before light came on to remind you)

Try resetting it. This works for most models -
Turn ignition on - so you get display/ lights etc.
Set trip meter to show milage.
Turn ignition off.
Press trip meter button - and keep pressing it while turning ignition to on again.
Light should blink and go out.
Take finger off trip meter.
Depending on model - you may get some figures - 1200 , 800 , etc. This alows you to change service interval if you want - but if not - then just turn ignition off again.
Light should stay off.

If this doesn't solve it, I'll look for specific info of how to do it - or start checking other possible causes to check.

Car stopped on interestate, dieseled and quit.

I had the same problem on my way to Washington state from Iowa. I never checked to see if my throttle valve was dry, but I had it taken to a shop and it was the mass air flow sensor which is a metal cylinder connected to a tube between the air box and the engine. One thing you can try is disconnect the wires that go to it and see if it starts. This is just an idea that may help you.
