I finally figured it all out..... you would need an XviD (.avi) encoder... I used ImTOO Mpeg encoder.
convert the file to XviD(.avi) format but change the...
Frame Size to 220x176 and the...
Frame Rate to 30fps
then drag and drop the converted file to the mp4 player under video.... once this is done the video will work on the Coby mp705 4GB.... I did this with my nieces player and it worked like a charm.
I have full instructions with pictures for the ImTOO software and the software that came with the mp4 player..... you can e-mail me and I will send it to you.... [email protected]
Get (Windows Media Any Video Converter), select add video, click on the video you wish to convert, in the (profile) slot (select costomized avi movie), in the (video options) slot, click on (video codec) & (select xvid), click (frame size) & (select 220x176), click on (video bitrate) & (select 768), click on (video framerate) & (select 30). You cant add WMV or any type of regular videos onto this unit. You first have to convert the files to MTV format, in which the player recognizes, below is a link for a setup guide, at the bottom of the setup guide is instructions on how to do the videos.

I have a problem. i need to know how to store videos on my coby mp705 and the correct formatt to watch them all am seeing is wrong formatt
The videos need to be in .MTV format. Only .MTV converter
that seams to work. After it is converted you can put it in any folder.
To play the video, you have to hold down the menu button for a few
seconds until it displays the function menu. Then choose the video
function.
Try to find mtv converter at http://www.mtvconverter.com
I had that same problem but then i found out how to get any vids, you need youtube downloader... it works just like a converter, and you also need mtvvideoconverter 1.11.4 available on cobyusa.com First you have to get any video with mp4 format or one that youtube downloader can convert like avi. (btw youtube downloader is free, just google it) the you use the convert option from the downloader and convert your mp4 to the XVid Mpeg-4 Codec (Avi) option. Select your video then start conversion. The you use the mtv converter and convert it to the screen format of your mp4 player. Finally, you take the converted files and place them in whatever files you have for your videos, And You're done. Hope this helps, sorry its long
After I used the video converter, I copied the .avi files from the 'Shared Video' (destination)folder(through Documents and Settings)over to the video folder on the device using 'My Computer' and it worked.
I do need to know how to delete the video files that say 'invalid file format' Any suggestions?
