I finally figured it all out..... you would need an XviD (.avi) encoder... I used ImTOO Mpeg encoder.

convert the file to XviD(.avi) format but change the...
Frame Size to 220x176 and the...
Frame Rate to 30fps

then drag and drop the converted file to the mp4 player under video.... once this is done the video will work on the Coby mp705 4GB.... I did this with my nieces player and it worked like a charm.

I have full instructions with pictures for the ImTOO software and the software that came with the mp4 player..... you can e-mail me and I will send it to you.... [email protected]

You cant add WMV or any type of regular videos onto this unit. You first have to convert the files to MTV format, in which the player recognizes, below is a link for a setup guide, at the bottom of the setup guide is instructions on how to do the videos.

The videos need to be in .MTV format. Only .MTV converter that seams to work. After it is converted you can put it in any folder. To play the video, you have to hold down the menu button for a few seconds until it displays the function menu. Then choose the video function.
Try to find mtv converter at http://www.mtvconverter.com

I had that same problem but then i found out how to get any vids, you need youtube downloader... it works just like a converter, and you also need mtvvideoconverter 1.11.4 available on cobyusa.com First you have to get any video with mp4 format or one that youtube downloader can convert like avi. (btw youtube downloader is free, just google it) the you use the convert option from the downloader and convert your mp4 to the XVid Mpeg-4 Codec (Avi) option. Select your video then start conversion. The you use the mtv converter and convert it to the screen format of your mp4 player. Finally, you take the converted files and place them in whatever files you have for your videos, And You're done. Hope this helps, sorry its long

After I used the video converter, I copied the .avi files from the 'Shared Video' (destination)folder(through Documents and Settings)over to the video folder on the device using 'My Computer' and it worked.

I do need to know how to delete the video files that say 'invalid file format' Any suggestions?

Why cant i watch the vids i downloaded onto my coby mp3? i downloaded them to the vieos... ????

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. My Coby MP-610 won't open coby media manager.

1. Did your unit comes with Coby Media Manager? THere are two versions of this unit, one comes with and one doesnt. You can usually tell, if your unit came with an Installation CD, then it doesnt use Coby Media Manager

2. To access CMM - Start > My Computer> Double click the removable disk drive that looks like a 'C' with a big red circle, follow prompts to open Coby Media Manager.

3. IF you somehow formatted or deleted it, you can download a new copy from here:

I Lost my the coby media Manager for the MP620 how do i get it back because on the site there no MP620

I found a direct link from Coby wesite so you just have to click on the link below to start the download. Its 40MB. Its for Windows.

Coby Media Manager

(Note: This same Media Manager is used with ALL of their mp3/mp4 series so don't worry if your model is not listed.)

If you wish to download for Mac, click here to visit the Coby support website. The downloads are stated as a 'fix' but actually they are full programs.

If you have trouble during installation refer to the guide in the manual or let me know by posting here.

How do put movies on coby mp3 player, i own the movies, but want to put on so my son can watch his spongebob

Hello,
For using video on the MP815, use Coby Media Manager for conversion and transfer onto the player.
Coby Media Manager can be installed from the CD that came with the
player.
When not having the CD: get a download of the manager from next page, matching the computer's Operating System (Windows or MAC):
http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=fix_mp822

a6e3ac4.jpg In Coby Media Manager, in the page top select Tools > Device Manager..
Select the MP815 from the Devices list (click on MP815)
Add >> (MP815 as Favorite device)
OK
Next to the Tools selection, there's a Help menu for how to use the Manager.

Tranfering files

Coby no longer keeps a full user manual for this product, but you can use Windows Media Player to transfer your songs onto the player. It is not compatible with iTunes, but you can use the Rip tab in Windows Media Player to rip songs from a CD - you have to go into the Rip Options and change the Rip format to Mp3 first. Coby does have a video on the process at:
http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=tutorial

You can also load mp3 files from a music service such as Limewire into your computer's "My Music" folder - Windows Media Player should automatically detect the songs, but it may take a few minutes.

Good luck!
