I have a Frigidaire Gallery front end loading washing machine. The machine was turned off during the wash cycle, just before spin started. The clothes sat for about 1 hours in the tub. Upone restarting the machine we just began it where the point we turned it off. Going into the spin cycle it made this terrible banging noise, and got worse. It sounded like it was going to fly out of the machine. We figured it was off balace so we took all the clothes out and let the water drain. We started the cycle over hoping this would re-set it but during spin with an empty bin, it started banging again. Can the balance be reset or is this something else?

holla, Im not showing a E20 code on the tech sheet. There is a E21. Water not draining fast enough. Try holding the start/pause and cancel key together for 3 seconds. The door lock, wash, rinse and final spin leds should light. Any error codes should be displayed when holding those keys. If you see a different error code, post it. If not, I would suspect a clogged pump...Catriver.

HI .THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE WATER PUMP.REMOVE 2 SCREWS AT BOTTOM OF FRONT PANEL . PUMP ON RIGHT .REMOVE HOSES AND CLEAN OUT THANKS THE APPLIANCE DOC.

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

there should be bolts that come with pedestal so you need to take your legs out of the washer now lay it on its back then bolt the pedestal up to it and if the pedestal dont have feet put the ones out of the washer on it

The problem is the door latch assembly. You can get it at your local parts supplier or oder it through repairclinic.com. Should cost $50-$55. My hubby is replacing mine now. Not an easy part to replace, but by all information I have gathered from the manufacturer and the parts department, this is a common problem and most likely the cause of the machine not spinning. It runs through all the rest of the cycles, but will not spin, even on spin only cycle. The good news... if you replace the door latch assembly once, the replacement part is much stronger than the original and shouldn't have to be replaced again.
