We've had this LG LRFC-21755 fridge for a little more than three years, and the ice make stopped working about a year ago. Water fills the ice maker, and the cubes get made, but sometimes the cubes won't get ejected. Then, the next time the water comes into the ice maker, it runs right down into the tray. I did remove the whole ice maker once, letting the cubes thaw and fall out. The problem started again, though, as soon as I put it back in. I'm comfortable replacing the ice maker, if that's what it takes. Might it be some simpler fix, though? Thanks, Mark

I am a service tech and see this problem often , whats happning is every time you open the left door when water has not frozen. the water splashes into the icemaker and freezes, the only fixto the prolem i have found is to replace icemaker, i have found if you try to thaw out you might get one tray of ice out. thanks

Your icemaker tray has an update for the water flowing over the tray.  You will need to call a qualified LG technician to get it replaced.  Also, the tray is twisted because it binds itself against the hinge pin on the left side.  To stop this, spray some cooking spray oil in the left hinge pin and it should unbind itself and return to normal.

You may have a problem with the computer control board in the ice maker.  Try this.  Turn off the icemaker for about 2 minutes.  
Turn on the ice maker and press the clear button.  Press and hold this button for 12 seconds to get it to force extract.  This will confirm that the motors will work and push the ice cubes out.  Afterwards, let it run by itself.  If it still doesn't make ice, you will need to replace the icemaker.

Colenoid in the ice dispenser may be clogged or have a small amount of trash in it. Is there a filter on before the fridge (just after the ice maker shutoff)?

I got the same problem where the plate is cold and the water does not fill - saw this comment from other posting and help. Basically, the ice maker was stalled! Make sure you can see the green light is on, which means you have power. if its lit, press and hold the cube size button until i/m starts to cycle. If i/m runs, but does not fill then your water valve is bad. If i/m will not start then your i/m is at fault.
