HDD died on M325x. Recovery disc did NOT reinstall drivers or applications. Have found all drivers except Mass Storage Controller and Multimedia Audio Controller. Drivers on Gateway sight will NOT load for these two items. What are my options so I can have sound?????

You could download a program called Driver Magician. this will update all the drivers you need but there is a small fee for the registration. the cost is nothing considering what this program can fix.

IDE controller starts to install the driver automatically as soon as you restart. The best way to get it completely removed from your comp is that in case you are using Windows XP or higher version goto Safe mode by tapping the F8 key on the keyboard on restart. goto control panel to Add/ remove programmes and uninstall the software completely. I went to the Intel site and downloaded the Intel® PRO/100 VE Network Connection driver here. It worked great. Now if I could find the right audio/multimedia drivers I'd be happy. Hope this helps.
That means the driver is not installed the hardware has been dectected by the OS but there was no drivers for the sound card so pls reinstall the drivers for it
The mass storage controller is generally for usb devices that you've plugged in. USB keys, memory cards etc.
This kinda falls under the realm of the USB drivers for your mainboard... which if they're working, you don't need to do anything. XP service pack 2 supports USB2 just fine, but service pack 1 will require you to get your manufacturers drivers to get USB2 working at full-speed.
Why do you want to change the default driver anyway??
i need drivers for my toshiba satellite M55-S3512. other drivers i have found from the toshiba web site but only the given below drivers i could not find.
1. Mass Storage Controller
2. Video Controller
3. Video Controller(VGA Compatible)
any one help from where i can find these drivers.
