I have a Samsung side by side model # SRS 632NSS. it is about 18 months old. The freezer side does not function but the fridge side is normal .We have tried turning it off and resetting it however it is still the same....???

First: i don't know. In the manual there should be some pages for solving dysfunction and what the lights mean.

Always check for damage on the closed and pressurized system, including inside, where the tubular radiators are, mostly half within the panels. Those may have broken when using tools to remove ice or been hit rough with some object.

For a right understanding: the fridge must not be shaken or tilted and carried. When this has happened, then the evaporation fluid or refrigerant can be mixed with the oil that resides on the bottom of the compressor. It may only have a small sponge to clear the fluid from a little oil contamination. What finally solves the mixing is shutting the fridge off for 24 hours and when not completely satisfied with the result, immediately for another 24 hours.

Another thought is that a fridge may not function at all, in a cold room. Transfer of heat is totally not the same at all temperatures. Many people have been the same disappointed as you, thinking they can find a cold place for the fridge or freezer. So, when this has happened when the room temperature dropped dramatically, get it out of the cold or shut it down because it performs at its maximum capacity. That is where my bet is at.

The radiator at the back can also not function right when it is close the wall and/or an object is placed right above it. The heat must be dispersed. Best of luck

The screws are in the holes on the side. You will need an Allen wrench to tighten them

if you a have samsung model
SRS 2026 2027 2028 OR 2029 , then you probaly need to fit the rs21 repair kit - as the srs models are the earlier version of rs21 - and suffers from the same isssues .

there is an extra component you will need as well as rs21 kit - if you look under most of the videos there is a ebay link which takes you to ebay shop where you can pruchase samsung spares

The first thing to do is, give it a FULL DEFROST, the old fashioned way. set it for defrost or unplug it and melt all of the ice out of the air tunnels below and behind the freezer. In the refrigerator section, you will find a hole that you can stick your finger into, normally in the wall next to the freezer. This has the defrost timer in it. Give it a full turn CLOCKWISE to make sure the contacts aren't stuck. When you are sure all the ice is melted and the water has been dried up, power it back up. It will run properly if nothing actually went bad. The next step, if it doesn't work right, is to replace the thermostat.

without checking equipment you can only assume things that may go wrong...1st..try fully defrosting complete unit,clean all vent/drain holes then switch back on and let unit do its thing for 24 hours.then check temperatures are minus 18-20c for freezer and plus 2-5c for fridge (approx)unless you have electrical meters to check, this is just about all you can do..

Sound like the problem may be a gear broken or damaged in the module which appears to be replaceable in your model. If you can dissasemble it enough to inspect the gears you may can replace the part instead of the entire ice maker. Is the compressor trying to run at all. Are any sounds coming from the area of the compressor? Like a hum and a click sound in that order? If the compressor is cold to the touch it could be a control problem. If the compressor is cold there are two things that shut its power off. The thermostat which controls the temperature or the defrost system. If the compressor is hot the problem is compressor related.
