Olympus 760 error d;8234

Hi,

Having problems with my Olympus 760 camera in that the shutter has jammed and the screen message reads error;8234. I would be grateful for any assistance to rectify the problem. Best Regards. Shawn Roberts

    When I turned on my olympus stylus 760 yesterday, the lens went out but, when I try to turn it off, it makes a buzzing noise and won't move. I have the blue screen which reads D : 8234. I have not dropped the camera or anything like that. In fact, I've only used it a few times. Can anyone suggest a solution? Please help.

    i have the same exact problem...

    my lens wont go back in and it makes buzzing noises, then it kinda worked for a few seconds then when i pressed a button the screen went blue again...

    i even tried to clean the memory card and the battery as suggested...

    and im sure i havent dropped it or got it wet.

    if you know how to fix it please tell me!

    ya i ahve the same problem, the lens won't go back in and when i try to turn it on it just makes a noise and the blue screen shows up and says D : 8234,

    if someone could help me that would be great

    I also have the same problem. I tried cleaning the memory card and blowing the dust out of the chamber, but it did not help. I really wish someone knew how to fix this!

Try cleaning the memroy card and blow the dirt of its chamber it worked for me

Lens will not retract - error codes 5f08 3406 8234
try these:-
  • connect it to pc and on it
  • vaccum the barrel of lens
  • changing mem. card and batt. for 2min.
  • shake it.
  • on and off in different positions
  • hit the part near lens softly with palm (trust me this made mine work)

Lens not setting back
The problem you are describing is a problem with a sensor that has failed in the lens assembly of the camera. It needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

Error code D: 5f08 8234
Check the power source, make sure the battery is fully charged.

If you have another battery you can try that other battery and see if the lens is able to extend and retract properly.

Try to reset the camera through the menu. If that does not solve the issue then the camera would need to be sent into Olympus for repair service.

I just called technical support and they told me the camera has an internal problem. You have to call them if your camera is still under warranty and send it to a repair center.
