The speaker level input option is designed for receivers that don't have digital output for the sub, used this way when you set to digital the speaker outputs only get the higher range outputs so won't reproduce much bass. To get the sub to work in digital mode you need to use the digital output (single RCA) from the amp to the sub
Hiya, I am guessing that the fried wires were the inputs to the speakers? If thats the case and they are damaged, then unfortunately both JBL could be blown, most likely preamp damage. Try taking them away from the system and using a completely different source like the output from a CD player/MD/ even video with a new cable. That will tell you if it is the speakers or the reciever you are using.
If they are damaged, you will need someone with electronics abilty to repair. If the input wires are damaged, there is a good chance there will no warranty, however discuss with JBL, then decide where they go for repair.
You don't need schematics to replace the fuses.
Open the speaker unit by unscrewing the back. The fuses are located near the on/off switch assembly. Replace them and screw the the unit back together.
To avoid blown fuses, try lowering the volume.
See you CPU's backside you will find two different speaker input saket (in green ,yellow or pink) fix your speaker pins in their colors and the speaker will work
