Depends on your machine. What bran/model dso you have? If it is an air popper, NO. Adding anything will damage the machine.

If your machine is not an air popper then you likely need to add some oil. I currently have a WestBend Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper. You use a tablespoon of oil for each 1/4 cup of popcorn in the bottom of the popper. See here; an instruction manual is available.

You are best to check with the manufacturer of your popccorn popper.

Popcorn machine doesnt heat high

Popcorn needs 400F to pop, if you machine is not hot enough it will not pop popcorn.
You did not include very much information to help fix it, but if it is a home use popper, you cannot repair anything on them.
A true commercial popper you can replace thermostats, and fix the problem.

I bought a Presto Popcorn Now continuous popper at a garage sale. There were no instructions and the seller never learned how to use it, having recieved it as a "hand-down". I want to know how...

WAIT! Do not add any oil or butter. I don't know what kind of machine you have, but only POPCORN goes inside the Popcornnow. I have an old one that melts butter on the top cover, although I don't recommend that. I recommend butter in the microwave. Repeat: DO NOT ADD OIL where the popcorn goes or you will set a fire.

I DO NOT HAVE COOKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR MY KPM-508 POPCORN POPPER

The instructions say make sure kettle motor is plugged in. Turn unit ON with switch on crown of machine. Allow unit to run for 3-5 minutes to heat up kettle. Turn unit off. Add 2 teaspoons of your favorite popcorn cooking oil to the kettle. Then add 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels to the kettle. Turn the unit on and close the door. When popping sound slows down turn the unit OFF. Flip the kettle over with the crank handle to empty the kettle. Repeat process until desired amount of popcorn has been popped.

The popcorn gets stuck in the kettle until it burns

I have a Popcorn machine from Nostalgia too that had this problem. I cleaned it out and everything but it still had the problem of the it getting stuck. After days of analizing, I found the solution. after a while the ceiling of the popcorn machine starts to fall in, lowering the handles of where the kettle goes. making the knob that turns being lower that the one that makes it turn, causing it to get stuck, all I did is add so leverage so the kettle is once again at the same level or higher. Making it turn with greater force and not getting stuck. In other words make sure the turning mechanism is leveled and not one lower than the other. preferably the kettle part being higher.

Can you use this machine with oil and salt

NO. There should be a little cup / scoop on top of the lid. This is used for measuring the popcorn and then melting butter to pour over it when it's done poping. Then you can add salt to the popcorn.

Do i need to add oil to the machine

oil is not necessary for this brand of popper. The seeds will pop themselves. Just make sure you don't overfill it with seeds. You have to turn it off when it is done. You'll need a bowl to catch the popped popcorn. Wait 15 minutes after popping before starting again.

NEED AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR ''OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN

The usual way to use a pop corn popper is to:
1st - add oil
2nd - add popcorn
3rd - add any seasoning (if using the pre-packaged "theater" popcorn mix).

DO NOT add butter into the popper, as it will burn quickly and make for some foul tasting pop corn.

You can always add butter and salt to taste AFTER the pop corn is done popping.

Hope you find this Very Helpful. Best regards!

Salton Popcorn popper Model# PCST22Y

I owned one of these and it worked for 2 whole months.

It's a popcorn machine, how hard could it be? Make sure the stirring bar it tight on it's shaft, make sure the plastic bolt is tight. Add about 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and 1/4 to 1/3 cup popcorn kernels. Turn the machine on. Turn the machine off when the popcorn stops popping, or you might scorch the popcorn.
