Bought a 987c si hd. i have a 917c on the front. I bought a inter link for them. when it is hooked up like the diagraphm says, that is 1) plug the puck into the gps port on the interlink. 2) run power to the puck cable. 3) run the choke cable down from the front gps to the unit 1 port. 4) run the choke cable with the extension to the unit 2 port. turn units on and the units do not work. I have no gps on either graphs. Whats the problem? thanks bryan

Cannot connect to the interent with Shaw Cable. Problem just occured today. When I hook my internet directly to my computer it works fine. Shaw tells me this is a global problem with alot of their...

I had the same problem and got the same answer from Shaw when I called. Fortunately my D-Link 655 modem was less than a year old so I called D-Link support. They said Shaw made a change to their system yesterday which caused the problem.

The solution they provided was to log into the modem then go into setup, manual setup. Make sure the connection is Dynamic IP (DHCP), then at the bottom press the button Clone your PC's MAC address, then save the settings. I then had to unplug the power from my cable modem and router and wait 1 minute. Plugged in the cable modem first, once all the lights have gone through the cycle plug in the router. This fixed my problem so far.

Good Luck...

I just need to see a visual connection of xbox 360 to bacig flat screen tv.Eight now i am not getting a picture.Ihave regular x box hooked up and iam getting a picture for that.

First check the AV audio/video wires to determine if you have SD or HD wires. If you have 3 plugs (red, white, and yellow) then you will get standard definition (SD). If there is 6 wires (2 red, white, yellow, blue, and green) then you can connect High Definition (HD) and you can also connect SD as well. Now what you need to look @ if you have the wires with 6 ends (component HD AV wire), is on the part where you plug into the back of the Xbox 360, there is a switch on the box that is on the wire. It should say "TV" and "HDTV". If you have the component wires hooked up (5 wires) then select "HDTV" if you have only the 3 wires (red white yellow) for SD hooked up switch it to "TV". That is the first thing to check. The next thing to check is the way the wires are hooked up. If connecting HD, you very easily could've mixed up the 2 red wires, 1 is video and the other is audio. The way to determine which is video and which is audio is, for video, the actual plug itself is gray with a stripe of color which indicates where it goes on your tv, the audio plugs are solid white or red. And remember that the yellow plug is not used for HD setup. If you have a Xbox 360 that has the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) input, then I would recommend using that to hook up your console. With the HDMI its only 1 wire to hook up and is extemely easy to set up. The HDMI wire transfers audio and video all in 1. There is only spot it can fit into, and its located right next to where you plug in the AV wire on the console. To me, the HDMI is "cleaner" looking b/c its only 1 wire.

2003 heritage softail spits and coughts ---sometimes

Sounds like the typical lean mixture problem. They are jetted very lean from the factory in order to meet EPA emission standards. This results in spitting back out of the carb and stumbling on take off and idle. You need to richen the carburator a bit. To do this requires some disassembly of the carb. If you're not comfortable with doing this, take it someone who is.

To richen the mixture you can buy a "Dyna Jet Kit" to do the job with or you can simply buy the jet you're going to need. I prefer buying the jet, it's much less expensive. You'll need a #48 or #50 slow speed jet, a 3 millimeter flat washer, and a new carburator spigot seal.

Remove the carb from the engine. Remove the float bowl and replace the slow speed jet with either of the new jets. Your carb should have a #45 slow jet in it if it is the factory jet. Replace it with the #48. If it already has a #48, go with the #50. Replace the float bowl on the carburator.

Remove the top cover from the carburator where the diagraphm is. There is a large but relatively weak spring under this cover. Carefully remove the diagraphm and the slide. Look down into the slide and you'll see a plastic needle retainer. Lift this out by pushing up on the needle and taking the plastic piece out. Remove the needle. You'll see a metal band around the top end of the needle. Starting from the pointed end of the needle, slide the 3mm washer up to this band. A small dab of grease will hold the washer in position while you reassemble the needle into the slide. The purpose of the washer is to RAISE the needle about 0.020" thereby richening the midrange fuel mixture slightly. Make sure the washer is UNDER the metal band when the needle is back in the slide. Reassembly is reverse of the disassembly. Be VERY CAREFUL when reinstalling the slide/diagraphm assembly, Do not pinch the diagraphm. If you pinch a hole in it, the assembly must be replaced. Cost about $100. Make sure you get the edge of the diagraphm into the groove all the way around at the top before putting the spring and top cover back on.

Now, turn the carb upside down and find the "anti-tamper" plug on the carb idle mixture adjustment screw. It's an aluminum plug that covers the idle mixture screw. It's on the backside of the float bowl towards the engine. Take a small drill bit and carefully drill through this plug. Do not drill too deeply or you will damage the idle mixture screw. Once you have the small hole drilled, start a sheet metal screw into the hole and use a pair of pliers to pull the plug out. You now have access to the idle mixture adjuster screw.

Reinstall the carb back on the engine and check for proper operation. Make sure the throttle works properly. Start the engine and allow it to warm up. Adjust the idle mixture screw for highest and smoothest idle RPM. It should be a little over 3 turns out from the "bottom". To find the "bottom", with the engine off, carefully turn the screw inward until it stops. Do not force the screw, just until it "bottoms out". Then come back out about three turns and adjust from there for best idle. Set the engine idle speed at 1000 RPM using the throttle stop screw.

This sounds like a difficult job but it really isn't. But, if you're not comfortable with disassembling the carb, best take it to someone who is. The biggest thing is DO NOT PINCH A HOLE IN THE DIAGRAPHM.
Good luck!!!

Need help hooking up TV, BluRay, Home Theatre & cable box

I found that since the Panasonic TH50PZ80U TV has only 2 HDMI ports on the back of the TV, the best solution for me was to use component (red, blue, green) cables to connect the Home Theatre to the TV. I suppose I/you could connect the home theatre to the HDMI port on the front panel, but I don't want cables hanging out the front of the TV (personal preference). Unfortunately, I am no longer able to use the VIERA Link functionality available by connecting all Panasonic components to each other using HDMI cables, but I feel it's a small price to pay for the incredible picture quality acheived by using the HDMI cable to connect the HD Cable Box to the TV. I may yet be able to control everything using the HD Cable Box remote, but I haven't gotten that far yet but I've got Comcast coming on Saturday and hopefully they can let me know if this is possible: let me know if you have a solution.

So here are the components and the cable types used to connect:
  1. HD Cable Box to TV: HDMI cable & Optical Audio cable
  2. Home Theatre to TV: Red, Blue & Green component cables
  3. BluRay Player to TV: HDMI cable
I hope this helps someone else.
