I repair car amps for a living and my prices are the chepest in the USA if an amp needs to be sent to me, plus shipping. I get a lot of amps to repair from this site. Sound like you might have to low of an ohms issue. If not I would have to have to look at it. I don't charge a bench fee and give a 90 warranty. I have the same amp in my collection. My prices also rarely exceed $60 to $80, something like yours would be around $40 or $50 plus shipping if you need to ship it to me. I have been doing this for 17 years and have'nt ha a complaint once. I also fix things in amps I see that might need fixing for free. People ask me why I do'nt charge more or fix things for free, is because I'm not hard up for money and I want to help my fellow car audio enthusiests. Let me know if you need my haelp. I will try to help you online first before we need to go further.

I have an JBL GTS 180 Amplifier for my truck. The power light is blinking and there is no sound. Can you help me?

I believe you have a weak ground signal. Check the ground location.
Unhook the power fuse from the battery. Remove the ground, peel off the paint behind the bolt and scrape the copper off the back of the connector as well. You want metal to metal basically. Put back in the fuse.

Could also be incorrect wiring to the subs and amp.
Has the amp ever been hooked up before?

I have the JBL gto 601.1 apm its a 2 channel, i hook them up to 2 12 kickers, the amp will play the subs properly ONLY at low volume and the amp will spit and choke on high volume ( meaning that it will go...

ok first off bbbman78 is wrong!!! second off that amp is not a 2 channel amp!!!! i have the exact same set up as u do. an i was having the same issue. i discovered that the subs were not wired to the amp correct because the amp is a class D mono amp. and it does have 2 sets of terminals to wire subs to, but it is actually a 1 channel amp! ok if u have the 2 ohm dvc (dual voice coil) wire them like in this linkhttp://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_2-ohm_mono.jpg
if u have the 4 ohm dvc wire them like in this linkhttp://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg
once u wire them correctly.....crank it up and enjoy!!

Hello. I have one (1) XS-L1035 being powered by a JBL gts 180X 2/1 channel amp. The sub works fine if i power two(2) subs thru 2 channels BUT if I try to bridge the power to one sub the amp cuts out. Is it...

It sounds like the problem is with the amp. try using the other sub in bridged mode and see if it still turns it off. If it still turns off then its definitely the amp. In 2 channel mode you are using each channel at 4 ohms right? and in bridged mode to 1 speaker it should be throwing a ton of power on a 4 ohm load as well,it should work fine bro -its gotta be the amp

JBL amp, worked fine untill 2 days ago. protection light on..

might have roasted your speakers voice coils a little which may be sending the amp into protect mode throw a speaker on it that you know works and if it doesnt trigger the protect circuit then you probably have a blown or almost sub.

Do you mean like the subs power lights dimming when playing it at volumes it once had no problem playing, or loss in sound, distortion?

Amp is on, but sub wont produce any bass

Make sure the subwoofer is set to low frequency, make sure subwoofer and bass are enabled on the headdeck. Make sure the gain is turned up on the amp, make sure the rcas haven't come out of the back of the head deck.

Sub cutting out

Check the 12v wire running from the battery to the amplifier. Also the sony explode is a garbage subwoofer compared to the Alpine.. sony (they say 1200w max but its more like 100w to power the thing) Amp could be going. Is the amplifier hot when running. If there is a burnt smell comming from the amp, its the amplifier

It doesn't sound like the wiring from amp to sub is your problem.

Is your amp getting a power light ?
Are you sure your remote wire is hooked up properly ?
Check both ends of your RCA cables
