I cant find rings for a tecumseh hm80-155356n

mmm interesting.after comming up to temperature engine experiences excess blow by into crank case .doutfull if it has the wrong size rings for the cylinder as there would be other syptoms as well.think some thing is going on with the reed vave sticking open causing pressure build up into crank case

Broken rings is what it may be

If it not getting gas or is not fireing the fuel pump must be working or the other cylinder would not be getting gas sounds like rings bad or head gasket but make sure it is getting fire first

There is excessive blow- by from the combustion process which indicates worn rings /broken rings or scored bore (engine worn out or dusted). Check oil level in sump as excessive oil will also cause the problem

The most part of the Tecumseh engines are prepared from factory to install electric start .
Just remove the cover on the side of the motor and if you have the ring gear allready installed on the flywheel you just simply have to install the electric start . Make sure the gears on the electric start will match the ring gear .

Morning,, yes I did find the problem.. previous person that worked on it installed the main jet tube upside down. The Red one with the two "O" rings on it. I cut off the crimped end and opened the hole and reinstalled it and it started right up.... Thanks anyways....

standard size rings & im sure it the torque should be 40 in pounds

You either have a head gasket going bad or your piston rings are shot which causes air to go down into the crankcase building up pressure which exits through the breather tube.
