Timing marks trooper 1985 mod dlx turbo diesel

Refer to Figures 1,2,3,4 when performing 17-step timing procedure for 1981-1985 Diesel Engines.

Procedure - Timing Belt replacement.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the cooling system.

CAUTION
When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.

2. Remove the timing belt cover. Remove the injection pump sprocket flange.

3. Using a prybar, remove the tension spring from the timing belt tensioner.

When removing the tension spring, avoid using excessive force for the spring may become distorted.

4. Remove the tensioner pulley bolt and the pulley.

5. Remove the timing belt and discard it.

To install:

6. Rotate the crankshaft to bring the No. 1 piston to TDC of the compression stroke.

7. Align the timing marks on the injection pump sprocket with the camshaft sprocket; the marks must be facing each other.

8. Using a new timing belt, install it in the following sequence: crankshaft sprocket, camshaft sprocket and the injection pump sprocket; the slack must be between the injection pump and camshaft sprockets.

9. Install the tension center and the tension pulley so the end of the tension center is fitted against both pins on the timing pulley housing.

10. Hand tighten the nut so the tension pulley can be rotated freely.

11. Install the tension spring and semi-tighten the pulley nut to 22-36 ft. lbs. (30-48 Nm).

12. Rotate the crankshaft 2 full turns clockwise to seat the belt and further turn the crankshaft 90° beyond TDC to settle the injection pump.

13. Loosen the tension pulley nut to take up the timing belt slack. Tighten the tension pulley nut to 79-94 ft. lbs. (108-128 Nm).

14. Install the injection pump sprocket flange; the hole in the outer circumference of the flange should be aligned with the triangular timing mark on the injection pump sprocket.

15. Rotate the crankshaft 2 full turns clockwise to bring the No. 1 piston to TDC of the compression stroke. Make sure the triangular timing mark on the timing sprocket is aligned with the hole in the flange, then, measure the timing belt tension; it should be 33-55 lbs.

16. Install the timing belt cover.

17. Connect the negative battery cable.

I have a Kohler toilet. The triangular black gasket between tank and boel needs to be replaced. While I had the tank off, I noticed the large plastic pipe that comes from the tank is threaded like a screw....

Inside the tank it has a gasket from the stand pipe to the bottom of the tank. The stand pipe threads go through the tank and a plastic nut holds it to the tank. Then a gasket goes on the nut and threads to make a seal between the tank and bowl. I have included this picture that has the above look. I hope this will be of some help for you.

The brewer turns on, says not ready, and then turns off. The reservoir is full, but it will not make any coffee. We have made two cups previously

There seems to be a lot of these same problems, and if you're in warranty period and go to Keurig they should help. The motor stays on but does not draw water, then the entire unit shuts off after a few minutes. My guess is the shutting off is normal when the motor keeps working too long. If you re-seat the water reservoir it may encourage the water to flow. Probably a faulty valve or something blocking the flow.

Where is the thermostat

The thermostat is located on the left side rear of the engine at the end of the lower radiator hose. There are three bolts in a triangular bolt pattern fastening the thermostat housing cap to the housing body. The cap also has the coolant sensor in it. The orientation of the thermostat is critical. There are a pair of holes that locate the gasket pins in the main engine body. The by-pass rivet(the floating pin on the flange of the thermostat)is located between those holes.

Go to the below link and get a video for the thermostat removal.

What is the sum of the function f(n)=(nth triangular number)^2 when n= 1,2, and 3

The function is: f(n) = (n-th triangular number) ^ 2

So, f(1) = (first triangular number) ^ 2

the '^ 2' means "multiply the number by itself", e.g., '3^2' is '9'.

And, f(2) = (second triangular number) ^ 2
and, f(3) = (third triangular number) ^ 2

So, what is a "triangular number" ?

Do an Internet search for "definition triangular number",
and you may find the web-page;

http://www.mathsisfun.com/definitions/triangular-number.html

which gives a definition, plus pictures to help you visualize why they are called "triangular". Hint: a "tri-angle" has 3 sides, while a "quad-rangle" has 4 sides.

Fixing a new electrical lead

Is it really triangular and not just 'star' shaped say in which case you can use a 'phillips' screw-driver.
If really triangular then you'll have to go to a specialist electrical shop and ask to borrow a correct tool.
The replacement of the burnt lead should be fairly easily done as long as you have already some experience in doing these kind of electrical jobs!!
