Hello, W/D here.

Here's a couple of things to do or check:
1. Put a couple of drops of a light oil in the nailer with the trigger depressed, and the gun disconnected from the hose. Set it to the side for now, with the air inlet facing up.
2. Check the compressor outlet pressures. The gauge nearest the tank is the air pressure on the tank. The gauge closest to to the hose is the tool supply pressure. Between the gauges id the regulator, where you can increase or decrease the pressure to the tool.
3. Check your required air pressure for your nailer, and make sure that your regulator is supplying at least that much to operate the nailer.
4. Connect the nailer to the hose, Spray the underside of the nailer head (the slide assembly where the nails are driven) and try to drive several nails into scrap wood.
5. If the nailer operates properly, all's well. If it still fails to operate, place a few more drops into the air inlet (while holding the trigger down) and wait a few minutes, then try the gun again.
There are other things that can be done, but oiling the nailer should get you going. BTW, you should oil the nailer before each use, and when you put it away.
Best regards, --W/D--

Do you need to oil a bostitch 1850BN brad nail gun

All air tools need regular, sparing application of tool oil to maintain the seals and minimize moisture damage. With the tool disconnected from the air line, drip one or two drops of air tool oil -- NOT motor oil or any solvent -- into the air connector. Position the tool so the air connector is up, allowing the oil to run down into the tool.

My bostitch bt1855 nail gun worked fine, until it started to dry fire 2inch nails. No problem with firing quarter inch nails. Any ideas?

Have you serviced it recently? and is the gas in date? The pistons do dry out and have to be oiled with special oil.

The nails will not drive into the oak flooring! the compressor is at 100psi and the nail gun mis fires or when it does fire it only drives the nail 1/4 inch into the flooring. It is a Akuzuki x-799

I am not familiar with that name of nailer but when I have run into that problem it was because of too much oil used in the gun. If so this will have to be cleaned out. You do not have to oil a gun every time it is used if not used consistantly for long periods of time. Also are you using the proper guage nails? Something to consider hope this helps.

The gun got jamned I unjamned the nails but the fireing pin is stuck in the out position

If the firing pin is stuck in the out position, simply take a nail punch or something like it and tap it back in. Oil the gun afterwords.

On the trigger of my Bostich Spiral load nail gun AND my Bostick trim nail gun air is leaking profusely from the trigger. Nail guns were not in use for about a year. When I first used them this weekend,...

A nail gun works on compressed air.
When you hook the air hose to the gun it fills a cylinder with air pressure.
When you pull the trigger. the cylinder pressure is released onto a firing pin that shoots the nail.
The air pressure line is also connected to the trigger and therefore the trigger has to be sealed.

When ever using a nail gun, you add a bit of gun oil in the back of the gun (not 3-in-1motor oil, it has to be non-detergent gun oil)

If you haven't used the gun in a while, it is best to oil up the gun and let the oil run down into the gun.
If you use anything but gun oil, the seals will give out.

Your trigger seal has given out. It is probably an 'O' ring. You can access it by taking it apart. Look for the O ring.
Bostich makes re-build kits for the different guns that you can buy on-line.
Back when I was in construction, there were several nail gun shops that sold and serviced nail guns, and sold nails to the contractors. I don't know if that business model is still active or if you have to send the guns to Bostich service center.

Nail Guns Safety problem

Professional-grade varieties are automatic, and fire a nail directly upon pulling the trigger. A semi-automatic nail gun is more appropriate for beginners, since it requires a two step process: pull the trigger and then tap the barrel against the wood. This safety feature protects the user from accidentally firing a nail gun and injuring himself or others.
