I own a frigidaire smoothtop range model # PLEFM399DCB.I was cooking hot and spicey beef jerky in the oven, temperature 320 degrees. The steam from cooking was coming out of the oven vent which caused water to sit on the smoothtop and then the beeping started and F7 and 20 and 22 kept flashing on the controls.Could the water have got in the control panel. The beeping just keeps coming on.
Still need a solution for this problem?

Hey Scott, thank you for your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire range is displaying an error code of "F7" and it is beeping. Typically, "F7" stands for runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with the "F7" error code I would recommend having a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and replacement of any electrical components. Hopefully this information has been helpful. -Matt
IF you open the door to the stove, you will see screws under the lip of the cook top, take those out, check the back of the stove for screws and then lift the cook to. On some models you may have to remove the sides of the stove too.

Typically error code F7 indicates that your Frigidaire range is experiencing a failure with either the potentiometer or UIB (User Interface Board). Let's try resetting you range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. This usually clears most false error codes. It is best to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your appliance. If the error code persists, it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.
in version 1 of your model, F7 requires the replacement of the EDC (electronic door control) in later versions F7 requires the replacement of the EOC (electronic oven control)
