I have similar problem whereby consumer unit was tripping with same model. Have examined dishwasher and see ECO light flashing. Trying the suggested fixes for this first, having eliminated plug and socket by running extension cable to dishwasher from different socket!

Hotpoint aquarius fdw60 tripping problem

I would agree with you. Everything you say here certainly points to a faulty heating element. The original is fitted with two factory fitted clips so you may need to go to your local garage and get two jubilee clips as they don't usually come with the new element.

Dishwasher tripping all sockets

Your unit has a short in it...could be anywhere. You really need to use a VOM to troubleshoot the problem

Trips mains fuse when switching on

Disconnect the heating element, remove lower panel and take the 2 wires off the heater and tape.Reset the breaker and turn it on,if it's ok you know the heaters bad if not let me know.

Location of element

Hi, Hotpoint FDW60 got a concealled element.
You need to unplug and disconnect the dw, lay it flat on its back and remove the bottom tray (depending on the final letter for your model (FDW60G, FDW60P, FDW60T) you might need to remove the side panels and kickboard to release the bottom tray). Carefull with the floater switch. You should be able to locate the element straight away. Replace it and reverse the process.
Cheers

Hotpoint fdw60 dishwasher

This is a bad control board that if replaced will only repeat in a short time .My advice is to contact the manufacturer and complain, you have the right as a consumer to do so.

Hotpoint dishwaher

I've got a hotpoint dishwasher too with the same problem.. I'm going to have a crack at opening it up this evening to see if I can find the fault. It looks like corrosion on some of the wires can be a common cause for this. Will report back. Mark.
