KITCHEN AID REFRIGERATOR PROBLEM We bought a used Kitchen Aid fridge YKSRS22Q (1993), the ice maker is not working but water does work. What should we check to see why the ice maker doesn't work?

Is ice maker getting water?

What is the fridge model number? This could be the water control valve or the electronic eye crossing the door...APPLIANCE 911

It may be the arm in the ice maker is down. Even though the ice maker does not have the water hooked up if the arm above the ice bin is down it will still cycle the ice maker try lifting up the arm it should stay up this signals the ice maker that the bin is full and should shut off the ice maker. Hope this helps.

The ice maker not working: ---

Its the problem of water inlet valve. It's a dual valve. This valve has two tubes in it. One for water dispenser and one for ice maker chamber. The one side of valve is working, but other side of the valve is not working. The valve is got stuck in one position

if neither one works that usually is the water valve located on the back of the fridge. Try this manually fill the ice make with a glase of water and check the temp. in the freezer. you can reach in and touch to see if water is freezing in ice maker. see if it dumps the ice then surly the valve is bad

the water valve has two parts ( ice side and foutain side ) ice side could be bad . the tube in freezer that feeds the water could be frozen . and the ice mker itself may be bad . mm

The water circulating pump may have gone bad, or control board is not working properly.

The ice maker has stopped working. The red led light blinks when the freezer door is opened. Any thoughts?
