Here is the deal people! Easy fix. When you depress the on/off button on the walkies, keep the button depressed for 3 or 4 seconds. It will power up. The reason why you have to depress the button for a few seconds is because the button has more than one function. Hope this is the solution.

SOURCE: I have a set of Cobra Microtalk walkie talkies

Take to Radio Shack they service radios but will charge labor+parts. If you recently bought them take them back and get new ones with your receipt in hand.

We have lost manual for cobra microtalk walkie talkie & don't know how to turn on or use.

I couldn't locate your specific model, but all of the Microtalk series radios seem to be basically the same as far as operations. Follow the link below to a manual that you can download/print -- it should work fine with your radios:

How do you turn them on? Batteries are charged.

I couldn't locate information specific to your model, but on most of the Microtalk radios you push and hold the MODE/POWER button (may or may not be labeled MODE) to turn the sets ON and OFF. This is normally the top button to the right of the display.

I cannot get one of the radios to turn on. I've tried a good battery to no avail

Your fuse is blown, not sure if you can replace it.
Some of our radios you have to take quite a bit apart to get at the fuse and replace it.
