Log into your router. Under "WAN setup" or similar you should see "NAT filtering" or similar. Check the box next to "open". Be advised that opening NAT exposes your network to the Internet. Better to find out which specific port is needed for your application and stipulate that under "port triggering" or port forwarding.

Hello i got the zyxel p660hw-d1 today and its imposible to have open NAT even using DMZ or Upnp, NAT is always moderated. Any solution? thanks

First you must tell me what you are trying to do... becaus you talk about OPEN NAT (i'm not an expert in gaming) but in th network world NAT stand's for Network Address Translation from the WAN side of the router to the LAN side... and Upnp is a protocol, nothing to do with DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone) which involves opening ALL ports in the FireWall of your router to a specific machine on the LAN side....

Dont forget opening ports is opening doors to hackers... (I think the term NAT in the gaming world has some thing to do with controlling access to other players) post me if i'm wrong!!!

Cheers!

Nat problem

You need to do port forwarding. Check the port number that your vuze player uses and forward it on your SMC router/modem. Go to portforward.com for more information on how to open the ports. Or just call customer support of your unit and ask what port number should you forward. Good Luck!

Openning my nat connection

If it's a linksys router run it on the DMZ port. They leave one open for that reason. Other routers may vary, but all have either an unprotected port or port forwarding

Strict NAT?

If you call microsoft, and tell them that your NAT is strict, they will tell you specific ports you will need to forward. (For Free). If you arent sure how to forward ports, call up your routers manuafturer, or send me another message. I have forwarded my ports as well.

How do i get NAT OPEN

To get the NAT open, you have to forward specific ports. If you are doing this for xbox live, then call microsoft and ask for an "agent." Tell them that when you test your xbox live connection, your NAT is strict or moderate. They will give you a specific port to open. With that information, You go to your router's setup, and look for port fange forwarding. Enter the information given and save it. For further assistance, call netgear's help line and they will help you.

Nat

First call microsoft and tell them that your nat is moderate. (for me it still works on moderate...???) Tell them your router and internet service provider. They will tell you a port number which will have to be opened in order to make your connection stronger. then call your router manufacturer. (or vonage) And they have to help you.

How to Open NAT?

Look for a setting like "Virtual DMZ Host". It's hard to tell for sure without knowing the make and model of your router.
