Hi, here is the procedure from autozone.com. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Removal & Installation

  1. Obtain the THEFTLOCK® codes and radio station presets before attempting to remove the radio, if applicable.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the trim plate bezel from around the radio using the following procedure.
    1. Adjust the steering wheel for access.
    2. Remove the ignition switch cylinder bezel.
    3. Remove the left side instrument panel fuse block access opening cover.
    4. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate screws.
    5. Starting at the right side of the instrument panel cluster trim plate, grasp the trim plate and carefully pull rearward. Continue working around the trim plate until all of the retainers are released from the trim pad.
    6. Detach the electrical connectors from the hazard switch and remove the trim plate from the vehicle.

  4. Remove the screws from the radio and pull the radio gently from the instrument panel.
  5. Detach the instrument panel wiring harness connector and the antenna cable connector from the radio.

Fig. You must remove the instrument panel cluster trim panel in order to remove the radio assembly

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal process, noting the following:
    1. After the electrical connection is secure and the antenna cable is connected, find the radio locator tab.
    2. If the locator tab is difficult to align to the instrument panel locator opening, pull the radio towards you and reposition the antenna cable.
    3. Gently install the radio to the instrument panel, aligning the radio locator tab to the instrument panel locator opening while carefully pressing the radio into the instrument panel until fully seated.

  2. Install the trim plate bezel.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Unlock the THEFTLOCK® radio (if applicable).
  5. Program the radio stations back into the radio as recorded at the beginning of this procedure (if applicable).

I installed my new aftermarket CD player on my 1999 Pontiac Grand AM today but as I was putting into the car, the yellow power wire sparked and it wouldn't work. So I figured I blew out the CD player but...

sounds like you have melted the ill. wire into the 12 volt constant somewhere in the wiring harness. You have a few options you can fix it by tracing down power wire behind the dash seperate the 2 wires and tape them back, but that involves taking out the dash to trace them. You could replace the whole harness which again requires taking apart the whole dash and is expensive, or you could run the power wire down to the constent on your cigerette lighter. Find a wiring diagram or test the wires to see which is which. NOTE: always unhook the battery when you are installing a new stereo because the constants are just that a contant 12 volt feed. but to test the cigerette lighter wires you will need to leave the key off and battery on gound your meter to something and which ever wire gives you voltage is the one you want.

Replacing stock Delco stereo display unit Model #16161954 in my 1993 Buick Regal with another stock unit, do I just color match all the wires?

yeah. if you were going to put an after market cd player in there, you would actually need to purchase a wiring harness though. but yes, just match the wires, but be careful to not cross them, because those wires are small enough to melt if you cross them.

NO LED Read out for Dual Automatic Comfortemp Climate Control

This is a chronic problem on the LCD display for Buick Century/Regal cars with the climate control HVAC system. The problem is most often some of the resistors on the PCB will get a "cold solder" joint and need to be fixed by remelting the solder and adding a bit more fresh solder. Remove the unit from your dash and inspect all the solder joints. Chances are you'll see one of them that is "loose."
