There is a large board attached behind the LCD panel, the video enters and is processed on that board and distributed to the display screen, when there is a disruption in the processing it involves the panel that is tied to the main itself. If the video cable is detachable from the monitor and computer you can try to sub it for any change. Problems of this nature usually exceed the price of a new monitor and better just to replace it for a new one.

I assume you checked the computer with a spare monitor to rule out any issues.

LCD display problem

Are you sure the cable is properly seated? You will typically get a tint of red green or blue when a particular pin on the cable isn't making contact. The lines on the other hand would indicate a bad display. Best advice would be to check the cable and if its all the way in hen replace the monitor. They are not worth repairing and also dangerous to work on.

Picture is OK, but colors are off and there is a blue star background that shows on dark colors.

Hello, With most rear projections there is usually an alignment to do with the set up with your TV. This is so the red, blue and green projectors align together to give the correct colouring. This sounds to me what may be causing the outlining of the blue. This can also make it seem off colour. Look in the set up menu of the tv and see if you can find this alignment feature. Usually a cross will appear and you move a blue, red, and green cross with the arrows on your remote to align over the original white one. If this does not work, it may also mean that one of your projectors, that is the red, blue or green one may be failing causing the off colouring. Hopefully this alignment may fix it for you.

Vertical lines in my laptop screen

Hi mikenstacy

Try to connect a normal desktop monitor to the laptop (there will be one vga port where you can connect the monitor) and if you see those lines on external monitor as well then most probably video card has gone bad (you can try to reinstall video drivers in this case) if those lilnes are not there on external monitor then problem is with your LCD so if system is in warranty then get it replaced other wise get in touch with local compter shop and get it replaced.

let me know if this helped
