Try holding down the DISPLAY or the MENU button on the front of the set for 10 seconds, sometimes that works.

  • Anonymous Jan 27, 2011

hi. there is no display button on remote or pannel. the Menu button held down for 10 sec opens the menu then tells me the tv is in DEMO. lol. im going try to manually update the firmware to the same current one that installed. I heard the tv resets after a manual firmware update. any other suggestions please continue.

I'm assuming you have a copy of the USER"S MANUAL.
I'm looking at the QUICK START GUIDE found at the following link:
    http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/conten...[PC8000-QSG]BN68-02619A-03Eng-0903.pdf

Maybe try unplugging the power cord and leaving it out overnight. This might reset the internal memory to default settings and let you access the PLUG AND PLAY menu once you turn it on again.

When I plug in power cord, unit says "Hello", cycles through all settings, says"goodbye, then starts all over again. I can play a CD all the way through.

Sounds like its stuck in demo mode. Look up model number on the internet if you don't have a manual. Hope this helps

Sony music hi fi system mhc-gzr88d show only demo not started

If only demo mode is playing,it's mean set is in standby mode.Normally
in standby mode it can't be operated. You have to power on the set by pressing power botton during demo mode.Once it gets power on,it will
start to work according to user required function. If the set not get power on after pressing power botton, then it's an electrical problem
and need to visit your nearby repairing centre.

How do i get archos 101 out of demo mode

This is directly from Archos' support website:
http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/faqs/en/faq_Archos5.html?country=us&lang=en

You cannot exit the demo mode without the code you created.
Contact Archos Technical Support via the help form on the website and give your 'Product key' (Tools > Settings > Firmware and Plug-ins).

The demo mode included in the device is designed to be used at retailers ONLY. Do not use it as it merely searches for two short video demonstrations to play in a loop for store displays.

The brand name Samsung is in the middle of the screen. I wish to remove it and with no manual I do not know what to do. Also there are other messages fliping on and off the screen too.

Method 1

To remove your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Volume + button on the side panel of your TV. If your TV does not have a side panel, press the Volume button on the front panel. The TV displays the volume bar.
  2. With the volume bar displayed on the screen immediately press and hold the MENU button on the side panel of your TV for about seven seconds. Again, if your TV does not have a side panel, press the MENU button on the front panel. If Dynamic or Dynamic Mode is displayed on the screen, your TV has been removed from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

Note: You may want to press the INFO button on your remote again to confirm you TV is no longer in Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

Method 2
  1. Press the Volume button on your remote.

Method 3
  1. Change your TV to the "TV" source. The TV source is the coax (RF) source. It does not matter if you do not have anything connected to this source.
  2. Press the MENU button.
  3. Use the ??² or ??¼ button to select the "Setup" portion of the menu, and then press the ENTER button.
  4. setup%20indicated.jpg

Note: On many TVs the menu sections name is displayed on the left side of the menu and sideways.

  1. The "Plug & Play" option should be highlighted if it is not use the ??² or ??¼ arrow to select "Plug & Play" option, and then press ENTER.
  2. Note: If the "Plug & Play" option is grayed out and can't be selected this means that you are not on the TV (Coax (RF)) source. Please return to step 1.

  1. Follow the on screen instructions. When the options comes up select "Home" instead of "Shop".
  2. Finish going through the plug and play option and your TV will no longer be in Shop Mode or Store Demo.

The store demo mode is stuck on my insignia tv. the user guide says go to menu and then setup and select plug & play. however the plug and play option is grey and it wont let me select it.

Are you using an HDMI cable? Go to input and select TV. Then you should be able to access the Plug & Play option and be able to turn off the Demo Mode.
