HP LaserJet P2015dn Printer Logo

My HP P2015 will only print one job and then shuts down. I have to reboot (sometimes several times) before it will print another job. Sometimes the Jam Light and Toner Light stay on when there is no jam and it's a brand new toner cartridge. Sometimes the Paper Light remains on when it is not out of paper. I also get an error message occassionally saying my computer cannot recognize the USB device and the printer shows as "offline".

SOURCE: Brother MFC 7420 Paper Jam

After changing the drum, toner and running around town for days trying to find a reliable place to get this printer repaired, I realized I was spending a lot more money than what the printer actually costs. the drum was over $100, toner was $80, and the printer is $250. I bought a new one, and I can now use the old one for parts.

SOURCE: HP 6940 will not print

Turn the printer off
Open the back door and
gently turn the paper roller upward until it clicks. Make sure the door is securely closed. Wait a few more minutes then turn the print back on. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: low toner & paper jam

There is a problem with the HP 2015 printer. The symptoms you describe are a common fault requiring the printer to be returned to the HP repair centre.

Out of a batch of 40 2015 printers, we have had to return 9 so far for the same problem. 2 of the 9 have been back twice... The printers come back with new MAC addresses and this suggests that the main motherboard is being changed.

SOURCE: Paper jam message

check the paper tray to make sure paper goes up. Also check to see if there are any obstructions in the paper path.

Our HP Color LaserJet 2600n refuses to delete a file and therefore is blocking other print jobs. The Control Panel window says it's deleting....but it's been trying to do that for two weeks. We have turned...

I'm going to assume you're using XP. I've not seen this problem yet with Vista or Windows 7, which handle the print queue differently. Sometimes the print queue gets corrupted, and a job gets "stuck" and you can't delete it. You can get rid of it this way:

  1. Click "Start" on the task bar, then "Run...".
  2. In the "Run" dialog box, type "cmd" (without the quotes) and enter.
  3. Enter the following commands as shown in the cmd.exe window that opens:
  • net stop spooler
  • del %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.shd
  • del %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.spl
  • net start spooler
  • exit
These steps delete the corrupted print queue, so the ghost print job will be gone. (In the commands above, "%systemroot%" is an environment variable that is filled in for you by Windows. Type it as shown.)

Microsoft has a knowledge base article which suggests using notepad to put these steps into a command file, a text file with a ".cmd" extension. Then you can just type the filename in the Run... dialog box and do less typing. This is handy if you find you need to clear the queue this way more than once in a while.

My P2015 "attention" light is

Hve you tried to replace the ink cartridge or take it out and then place it back in? Also you may want to power cycle the printer with the cartridges out. Take out the ink cartridges, turn the power off with them out, unplug the power cord from the back once all noise has stopped and the printer has shut off. Leave it unplugged for about 3 minutes or so and then plug it back in, turn the power on and allow for the printer to recognize that the cartridges are not in place. Now you will need to put the cartridges back in and this should allow for the printer to now recognize the ink being installed, which is where this error message is stemming from. Please reply once the above steps have been taken and advise on the outcome. We will take further steps if needed.

No there isn't that's the biggest problem with Win 7. DRIVERS.. if they aren't expressly written for Win 7. Then it is all just one big headache. In saying that sometimes installing as Admin, & in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode, helps.

Its not responding and the warming up sign flashing for along time

Mine will do this... sometimes even after I just printed something! Sometimes I fix it by canceling the print job and then turning off the printer. Wait a few seconds and turn the printer back on then try again and it usually works. Other times all I have to do is "open" the printer as if I was going to change the ink cartridge and when I shut it back down, it will print without any more problems.

Hp Laserjet P2015d has suddenly stopped working. jobs don't reach the printer. printer has to be shut off and "reset" to get jobs to print. Why?

Check to make sure the printer isn't set to Offline mode, if is ok then it sounds like a driver problem, you need to uninstall the printer driver and then reinstall it again.

I cannot delete a print job, it just states that

Part of the print job may be in the printer's memory and part may be in the PC's memory.

Rebooting the printer will remove the portion in the printer, but if there's still some in the PC' sit will just start to "refill" the printer when it comes back online.

Go into your Printers folder (Start > Settings > Printers -or- Start > Printers) to find your HP and open it. Now you're looking at the print queue. If there are any print jobs, there, delete them.

Now reboot your PC and your printer together. Power them both down fully (Start > Shut Down > Shut Down), then power them both up. Make sure they're off and not just in sleep - low power mode. When you're back online, any stuck print jobs should be gone.
