Nintendo DS Lite will not charge

My son has a DS Lite which has stopped recharging, when the charger is plugged in it shows the red lite for a second thenit goes off, have tried a different charger, battery and plug but nothing works.

    I have the same problem, the power cannot stay on what can we do?

    My son has a Nintendo DS Lite and it will not charge. When plugged in it doesn't even indicate that is is accepting the electricity to charge.

    Does it play when you put a charged battery in it?



    You may have a broken electrical connection from the charge jack.

You can try charging your DS lite using a phone charger. In order for this to work the charger must
  • Output around 5.2 volts
  • The end of the plug must look like the second plug from the left in this picture
When plugging this cord into your DS lite do NOT force it in. If you push to hard it may break the DS lite.

I have the same problem as described below: Ds is dead!! When i plug in ds to recharge, red light comes on for a second when inserting charger but then light goes off! Wont charge!
You have a blown fuse on your motherboard. Google ds fuse replacement to find out how to epair it yourself if you are confident.

My ds lite won't charge.. the orange light appeared blinked
We had this problem with a brand new DS Lite...turns out it was a bad charger. If you have access to another charger, try that first. Good luck!

It can't be recharged
The DS's battery has a limit to how many times you charge it,but then again the charger's wire inside it might be disconnected.
Try to buy a new DS charger and see if its the wire,if its not then try to call nintendo to see if they might be able to replace the battery(for a fee).

My guess is that the problem resides in the charger. You can buy a dual use charger for the DS and DS Lite at GameStop for relatively cheap.

Power problems with DS Lite
Really sounds like a dead battery. The DS will not work if the battery is bad even when it's plugged in. You get the quick flash of the power light and that's it.

Ds lite ac wall charger
When you first get the DS it will have a bit if charge on it but only a few hours worth. When the DS charges it usally comes up with a orange/red ish light then that goes out about a few hours later when its charged. ad if you want to chek if it is charging correcly turn the DS on whilst it is charging and the little battery simble in the top right corner should show the battery carging.

You never want to play the DS while it's charging, if constsntly persisted it can cause a form of battery leak.

IMPORTANT: Don't charge the DS until it dies on you completely!

When charging the DS the system will display a red light to show it's at its lowest energy, the time it takes to fully charge a DS can take up to 2-3 hours. In the second hour of charging the light will appear green but you don't want to disturb it until the light goes off. ( showing it's energy is full )
