My TLWTOB6 Salton Toastmaster Lightwave broke, and I fixed it. It had still turned on the display OK and pretended to run, but neither the top nor the bottom lamps would turn on. Also, it made no clunk sound that it would usually do when turning on the lamps.
I took it apart (keep careful track of which screws go where, and there are lots of sliding tabs to put pieces together). I examined the bottom of the circuit board holding the big electronics, and saw discoloration; evidence of heat damage. I wiggled a wire near by, and its quick connect tab came off the circuit board; it hadn't been soldered right at the factory. So, I resoldered it (hope my job was done better), and put it all back together, breaking and resoldering a data cable in the process -_-
So, it works fine now, and hopefully will last a while. By the way, the web address in the manual, www.toastmaster.com, doesn't work any more, and the URL is not associated with any IP address right now. Also, there appears to be no fuse inside the toaster oven.
My manual has 1(800)947-3744 Mon-Fri 8:00 am to 5:30 pm CST I have purchased a broiler pan from calling them in the past; now my unit just died yesterday so need to find another.
Mine just broke too - it won't heat - everything else works - lights, timer ect. but no heat can't cook without it - love my oven - any solutions ( I guess it's the heating element ) Hope I can get a new one.
YES YOU ARE your trying to bake something in a toaster oven :) toaster ovens have two modes toast /bake in this mode top and bottom elements get hot .and broil in this mode only the top elements get hot . the problem is the marketing the word OVEN makes you think of a normal oven that the bottom elements do all the work . toaster ovens work well melting stuff and toasting . thats about it . if you must bake in it try placeing a sheet of foil on top of your baked goods it might insulate the top of you food . good luck ... if this answer helped please rate it a 3 or 4 stars , this high rateing will help keep me in the paid answer department , thank you
This is not a defect - it is just how the unit operates. You can set it to Broil, and the top element should not come on. Make sure the wire rack is turned upside down so that it curves inward and try one more time.
