The pink wire is to connect to the negative side of your park brake switch. if you dont know where it is see a licenced installer. hope this helps let me know how you get on.

have you tried a different video input such as a video input behind the radio. have you made sure that you are playing dvd and not video in. or the boss unit could be broken.
It's because the pink wire (brake system) is not connected to anything. It is a safety feature to make sure that you are not watching the DVD while driving. I just installed my BV9990 today and had the same issue (before taking care of that pink wire).
the parking brake wire must be connected to the parking brake system of you car. When the parking brake is engages, the LCD will be allowed to view your video. If not, the screen will produce an image saying, parking brake. this is a feature designed for the driver not to watch a video while driving. The video output on this unit will not be affected by this, el wire to connect is Pink - parking brake. this is wire connect with ground.

The only way that would happen is if your pink wire is still somehow connected to the e-brake. You need to completely remove this wire from anything and only connect it to ground.
Yeah I took out my Boss out my Car sold to my friend before I sold it I check it now he saying there's no sound what could he had done for no sound not to be coming out through the speaker wire's.
