Need the manuel original lost or misplaced and can not find. want to record cassettes to cd's

Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW into the unit. Press the Function button on the remote (key above Vol+ on the bottom right of the remote) or the turntable itself (top left of the control panel) until the unit is in Phono mode. Then insert the pre-recorded cassette and press Play to advance the tape to where you wish to start recording. With the cassette playing, press the CD Record button (recording will flash on the display). The CD Record button is to the left of the fast reverse button on the unit; it is labeled Record on the remote and is below the Stop button. When one side of the cassette finishes playing, press Stop. Wait for the display to return to Phono. Then eject and turn over the cassette to play side 2 (if you want to record both sides of the tape). Press Play again to advance the tape and then press Record. When this side finishes, press Stop and then Finalize. Finalize is at the bottom left of the remote buttons and to the left of the stand by indicator on the turntable.

The manual is available at Crosley: http://www.crosleyradio.com/Product.aspx?pid=1790 . The direct link to the manual is http://www.crosleyradio.com/Manuals/CR248_Manual.pdf . Recording a cassette to CD is on page 11 (page 12 of the pdf).

I hope this helps.

How to record a program you are watching on your cable satellite receiver.

Hello,

Most of the time we watch TV programs with our cable satellite receiver/decoder. And sometimes we would love to record these programs so that we can watch them again. You can learn how to record your TV program while you watching a TV program.

All you will be needing is a DVD recorder or VCR (Video cassette Recorder). It all depends on the one you prefer.

There are two methods of doing this connection. 1. is RF connection and the other is RCA. But I will start with the RF connection method;

This is how is works. Get a RF cord, check the back of your TV, you would see RF in, connect the RF into TV in, then connect the other part to RF Out at the back of the Cassette or DVD Recorder.

Turn the Cassette or DVD Recorder and the TV on. Go to Channel 1 or any channel on the TV, search the TV stations automatically or manually in order to get a display of the Cassette or DVD Recorder on the TV. To easily get the Cassette or DVD Recorder's station, play a movie on the Cassette or DVD Recorder while you search for the station. Once you see the display of the movie on your TV, you would easily know that that's the Cassette or DVD Recorder station.

Once you have gotten a display from the Cassette or DVD Recorder, save the channel on the TV.

Then get another RF cord, connect it to "RF out" at the back of the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver and the other part to "RF in" at the back of the Cassette or DVD Recorder.

Now with the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver turned on and the Cassette or DVD Recorder also turned on, press the Cassette or DVD Recorder's channel, you should find search. Scan for channel/stations on the Cassette or DVD Recorder just like you did on the TV and you will find a display of the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver showing on the TV via the Cassette or DVD Recorder. Note that on some Cassette or DVD Recorder, you will have to select "Source" to RF before you can get a display of the channel.

Now since the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver program is now showing via the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver, insert a black disc or cassette into the Recoder and press record. The Satellite/cable decoder/receiver programs showing on the TV via the player will be recorded and that would be all.

For some recorders that has internal hard drive, you can just press record without inserting a blank disc......

USING RCA CONNECTION METHOD.

You could also achieve this by using a RCA (yellow, red and white cord).

The connection procedure is the same with the RF explained above.

Connect the Recorder to the TV. That is, from "Video and audio Out" of the recorder to "video and audio in" of the TV accordingly. Press AV or source on the TV to confirm that there is a display from the recorder on the TV.

Now connect the RCA cord to "OUT" from the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver to "IN" at the back of the Recorder.

Then, press source on the recorder to "INPUT" (RCA) and the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver's program will automatically display on the TV.

While the Program is being displayed on the TV via the recoder, insert a blank disc and press record on the player and it will automatically start recording. You will see the record or record symbol while the recoding is in progress.

I hope you understand the above. Please follow steps closely and you won't have any problems.

Good luck.

Sony DCR-TRV460 not playing back, blue screen

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if a blue screen is displayed when attempting to playback video from the camcorder.
 1. Stop the tape.
 2. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
 3. Play the tape.
 4. If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
 5. Clean the video heads of the camcorder using a dry head cleaning cassette.IMPORTANT: Follow the instructions for use provided with the head cleaning cassette. It may be necessary to use the head cleaning cassette more than once per session.
 6. Reinsert the tape into the camcorder.
 7. Play the tape.
 8. If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
 9. Insert a different tape with video footage into the camcorder.
 10. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
 11. Play the tape.
NOTES:
 • If a blue screen is still displayed, then the camcorder may require service .
 • If the tape plays back correctly, then the first tape may be faulty or there is a problem with the video recording.

Dictaphone ExpressWriter system - tape will not rewind, play, ff

Is this a standard-size cassette unit? Is the model number a 2740 or 2750? When you first plug the power in, does the machine make two clicking noises? Does the display show 'CAS' or 'No Cassette'?

VCR ejecting my cassettes

Try removing the top cover & have a look to see what happens when you put the tape in & press play/rewind etc. Is the take up spool (right hand spool) turning properly or is there slack tape not being taken into the cassette? Are the heads spinning ? I think your problem is more likely to do with the tape not travelling smoothly around the tape path. Possibly the clutch gears need cleaned or the soft brakes may not be dis-engaging properly.

Sounds like the tape tension sensor is stuck. The sensor is always telling the mechanism that the tape has reached the end.
