I am frustrated with my new IPOD nano 3rd Generation

I just bought my ipod 3 days ago. I have spent each evening setting it up and reading the online manual.... it is not easy for me to understand. I was able to sign up for itunes and select music, but when I plug in my ipod to my computer my screen says "connected" but I cannot get an icon to download my tunes.....HELP...

I am having the same problem. As you suggested, I tried a different computer. I removed and reinstalled Itunes. I follwed some of their suggestions, one being to disable all start up items. Still no resulution.

My 3rd Generation iPod Nano died and won't charge.

You may just need to leave it plugged in for a few hours and see if it comes to life. It is usually the case.

I am sure you will be fine.. give it a try

IPod Nano 4 GB -- what gen?

Hello,
If you have the Nano with the smaller screen measuring 1" x 1.25" and got it 3 years ago, you most likely have the 2nd generation. Apple doesn't really have cases on their site for the older nano. I have the same one and purchased my case at Target. They have a good selection of 3rd party (non-Apple branded) cases. You can also check an Apple store if you have one close by.
Hope this was helpful.
Have a great day

Ipod nano 3rd generation wont connect with windows xp

I have the same ipod and had the same problem - I ignored itunes and the computer and went to "real player" and treated it like an mp3 player and in real player you pick your music you want to burn to a cd but go to "device" column and change the destination from burning to your internal cd burner to the external drive which is the ipod and it downloaded perfect! hope this helps

Ipod nano 3rd generation and 1st generation nano

The first question I'm not sure. Is that the wireless network system that works with the wall outlets for power and networking?

The answer to the second question is No. You can only transfer playlists from ITunes into the IPod. Make sure your playlists are created in ITues before transferring.

Ok, What we need to do is do a simple test. First hold the power button for 15-20 seconds, then hold the centre enter button for 15-20 seconds. Keep doing this and it should reset!

Ipod nano 3rd generation wont connect with windows xp

You can only sync an ipod with itunes software, it doesn't come with the ipod though.

Go here:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/

On the right hand side it says itunes 7 Download now. That's the software you need to use with an ipod.
