Have a netopia 2241n modem, but no cd rom to set up? How can I get set up?

You don't need the cd. Just go to http://192.168.1.254 to configure the modem. This is from http://www.motorola.com/web/Home/Products/Voice-and-Data-CPE/xDSL-Modems-IADS-and-Gateways/2247-N8_Netopia/_Documents/StaticFiles/Netopia_2247-N8=_User_Manual.PDF?pLibItem=1

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

Leave it on but set a security key, so that unauthorized people cannot get onto your network.

yes but requires much instalin and high risk

have u tried running the broadband cd as it will be all new settings now that ops has changed if this does not work ring the provider u could be knocked off the network

1. From the System area, , select Network Settings.
2. Select Edit Settings.
3. Select Additional Settings, and then select PPPoE Settings.

1. Enter the PPPoE information provided by .........on the screens for: .......
2. User Name ......

• Password
• Service Name

1. Select Done. When prompted, select Test Xbox Live Connection.
