Samsung RS2534 Side by Side Refrigerator Logo
Posted on Jan 25, 2011

I had the same problem everyone else is having with my samsung model RS2534WW refridgerator. After a power outage the freezer failed but the fridge worked fine. Then another outage and both sides quit working. I unplugged the fridge and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes, plugged it back in and pressed the two buttons mentioned in other posts and "viola" everything started working. (cue creepy violin music) About two weeks later, after running fine and no further outages, the refridgerator side quit cooling. It sits at about 44 degrees and stays there. I tried the unplug/two button solution and it was unsuccessful. Is this a compressor problem or something I can fix? I tried to download the users manual but my model number is absent. Help!

I had a similar problem also after a power outage, I called best buy for service and 200 bucks later it was a no go, same problem. I found a repair manual on the online auction place E b a y and was able to troubleshoot down to a faulty relay on the PCB, look there for the manual it may help you. I is not the compressor cause then the freezer would not work also.

Our fridge compressor won't run after a power outage, can it be reset?

compressors use a small start / run capacitor to start the compressor
modern fridges do not like spikes from power outages and many power boards and electronic components fail because of this and I am inclined top use a surge protector before the fridge cord plug
I went google and typed in --fault code 88-88 for samsung fridge model rf26aewp and the first site up is error codes /messages/ blinking
the site is support-us.samsung>popup>iframe

Freezer side of my RS2534WW Samsung is not working, fridge side is fine, evap coil fan is running,,, what could be wrong , it's only 7 years old

Your indications does not make sense! Your unit has ONE compressor that uses ONE evaporator coil to cool both sides. So if the FREEZER side is not cooling the fridge side should not cool either! Are you sure you don't have the freezer and refrigerator sides reversed?

samsung fridges will perform a system scan when power is restored. it probably detected a defective sensor somewhere. you will need a skilled samsung tech for diagnosis. good luck.

We have a Samsung side by side RS2534WW, just had a brief power outage during a storm, now 1 light on the panel blinks, nothing else. Lights are on inside the fridge, but won't deliver ice or do anything....

I simply press and hold the top left and top right buttons (which are for the temp in each section) for about 5 seconds to reset. It's fine until the next power failure...and I don't want that when I'm on vacation.........

In my side by side samsung RS2534WW the rerigerator is warm

I read elsewhere that if you hold the power cool and power freeze buttons down for 12 seconds it will restart the system. I did it the other day (because we were having the same issues) and it has seemed to work for the last few weeks. Frige temp stays at 34F and freezer temp stays at -2F

Frigidaire refridgerator Model #FRT16CRH, how to clean freezer insulation

that part is the hart of the unit and more trouble than you want to get into. i do not suggest that you try and take it apart, you could really mess things up, would be very unlikely that anything got between there anyway
