Canon S9000 gave me an Operator Error and said to press the resume button. This doesn't work. I unplugged both plugs as canon support told me to do, and it still comes up with 7 yellow flashes and 1 green.

I have tried EVERY solution I could find on the internet - NONE worked.
This DID work:
Remove printhead - get large plastic cup or tupperware bowl that is wide enought to
hold the printhead - Fill cup or bowl to top with HOT water. Place printhead in to cup or bowl so that the water covers the top of the silver circles for each color on the printhead - The ink in the water will go into the water. After 2-3 minutes empty the water and repeat - repeat until water is close to being clear - place printhead on wadded up toilet paper (bottom of printhead on paper) on press slightly down for 30 seconds or so - paper should have no colors or just a smidgen of a color on it - Gently use toilet paper to remove EXCESS water - DO NOT try to dry every part completely - let printhead sit on toilet paper overnight - place in printer - add ink cartridges- go to printer - properties - maintenance and run nozzle check until it looks good (2 or 3 times) - do a print alignment and VOILA!!! - You just saved $100.00 or so. It worked for me

I tried all the reset codes and so forth you might find on other otherwise useful forums, and i have successfully modded 5 of these to print on DVDs, but this "operator error" and five yellow flashing lights was a tough nut to crack. I was about to give up and toss it when I tried one more thing and it works!canon Pixma iP4300 orange light - biggrin.gif

With the cartridges removed and the printhead carrier in the central position, press the empty printhead's back gently but firmly about a dozen times back against the printhead carrier, pushing it in toward the rear of the printer. I think this may help improve a bad contact between the half a dozen or so rows of little metal contacts on the printhead and their corresponding protruding little metal pins on the printhead carrier. It feels a little spongy (you can feel some give) as you push it in toward the rear of the printer and it gently springs back forward.

This solved it for me. I thought I'd share my idea and successful solution, and I hope it helps you, too.

I need to know how to reset my printer, I 've cleaned the pads, but nothing... Thank you in advance...

Power down the Canon Pixma IP4300. Once it has shut down, leave it off for a few moments.
Hold down both the "Resume" button and the "Power Button." When the printer begins to restart, release the "Resume" button but continue pressing "Power."
Push in the "Resume" button twice, then let go of both the buttons. In a moment, a green light flashes a few times.
Press the "Resume" button four times once the green flashing has finished.
Push the "Power" button again until the printer shuts down. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart the device. The Canon Pixma IP4300 will now function properly. for more information http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/67824 hope this helps you.

Waste inki absober is full. The indicator orange

You can remove the top of the printer to remove and clean the pad or reset the printer and continue without cleaning.

These are the instructions which worked for me on my Canon pixma ip470 and has work on many other Canon models:

1) Close the print head cover, and turn off the printer. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press the Power button. (Do not release the buttons. The LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button three times, and then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.) During initialization, the LED blinks in green.

4) When the LED stops blinking and lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the 4 times. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.)

5) Press the Power button. The LED lights in green, and the
selected function is performed. (When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically.)

6) Power off then back on and test.

There is an error message which says: waste ink near full what do I do next?

The printer will still work just fine, but the message will not go away. Changing the tank is a messy job and canon willtell you to take the printer to a service center. The following has worked to remove the message on my pc. Sorry, I'm not aware of the tank or pad cleaning procedure, but this should help with the message removal.
