Most likely it doesn't identify the memory card . open setting , storage , memory and check a viable memory . If new sd card is not assigned , take it out and reinserted or change it .
I had the same problem.
the sd card got stuck somehow with the secure lock.
the spring still pushed it out, but it was stuck in the slot.
i took a small pin and pushed it in between the slot and the card (upper side on the left) and it was possible to take it out.
1) Check to make sure the SD card itself does not have the protect switch in Locked position. There is a physical locator as you had with floppy disks to prevent erasure.
If they are not locked, the tab switch that contacts the tab when it is not locked may be dirty, bent or broken. A visual check in the slot can tell you if there is damage.
You can play back standard MIDI files from the SD card slot, or load them into memory via USB. However, it is not possible to add new tones or rhythms.
The pins can be sticky. You squeeze the pin extending out upward toward the top cross member to release the catch. I have one of these and they work nice. The pin (cushioned) that extends out is a handle that moves in a slot that pulls a rod through the tube to pull the index pin at the disk with the slots in it. These work easy but pull back on the pin before putting any force to open the unit.
Does it say ERR NO FILE? If so, then read on. The reason you have this error is because you don't have a folder on your sd card named MUSICDAT. Solution:
Insert your sd card into computer
Make folder called MUSICDAT.
Then, transfer all files inside the folder (make sure your songs are in MIDI format).
Safely remove your sd card.
You're ready to put it in you Casio Keyboard!
If you still get the error, take time to read you manual. Read the "using the sd card" part. The folder name might be different for your Casio Keyboard (because mine's a CTK-5000).
...and IF you still get the error, perhaps the songs you meant in your question are MP3 songs (like the ones you play on the iPod)? Then, that's a different topic... :)
Well then, good luck!
I had the same issue, and ended up solving it after trying many different things. So first you put the card in your reader, right click, and hit "format...". It should ask you if it's ok to erase everything. Say yes.
Then put the card in the recorder, and it should say "Unformatted". Hit Utility and TR4 to Initialize. That should do the trick. Hope that helps!
