It cannot detect phone line - Sony Ericsson W910i Cellular Phone

I see two solutions to this:
1) Subscribe to a ring pattern detection service via your phone company, and then set the fax to recognize the Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection (DRPD) , or
2) Put an answering machine in line with your fax that answers the phone after fewer than 5 rings. The answering machine will intercept any inbound calls.

Call sevice provider from other phone source. They will check the line from their end.

The phone is not detecting dial tone on the line. Are you able to hear a dial tone? If not - disconnect the cable at the phone and plug into a different phone. If it works, then the problem is with the Panasonic phone - if it doesn't work - the problem is with the cable, jack, wiring, etc.

Your machine should automatically detected it. go into deveice manager and delete the modem, then press F5. If the modem is not detected or does not work properly it is probably bad. Make sure you have the phone line protected from voltage surge through the phone line.

your fax is detecting a bad phone line . try it in another wall jack @ your location or somewhere else. if its only @ your original location , i would say you have a bad ground on your phone line. check your wiring

Verify the phone line is being plugged into the correct jack, there are usually 2 - one for a phone and one to connect to your existing phone jack. See if your phone works when connected this way, if not then there is a problem with the jacks and/or internal modem in the fax.

If you are in a private residence go to the demarcation box and unplug the phone jack that connects the line to your home. Plug your phone directly into the jack which is now looking at the line and has eliminated your house wiring from the circuit. Make an outgoing call and have someone call you back. If the trouble persists, the trouble has just been proven to be on the line which is a phone company problem. Busy signals occure when a short is detected on the line so you may have cable trouble in your area. Thank You. Jerry

That codes says:

"Redial count over with no response
or busy tone was not detected.
Note:
U.S.A. and Canadian models
will redial only once if a busy
tone is not detected."

The number you're dialing was first busy. When it went to redial, it detected no phone signal on the other end. If it happens to only 1 or 2 customers, then it's something to do with their lines and you can't fix that.
If it happens often, then get your phone lines checked out by your phone company, make sure your fax is not sharing the line with another other device and make sure it is not a digital line.
Other than that, you're looking at having to replace the main board in the fax. Which basically means it's time for a new fax machine.

YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO USE DRPD MODE WHICH IS IN FAAX SETUP  AND SET IT TO THE TYPE OF RING PATTERN YOU HAVE ON YR RINGMASTER SYSTEM.

IT WILLL START DETECTING THE RIGHT TYPE OF RINGPATTERN FOR FAX MODE ..

Does it flash when you try to fax? (Or) Does it flash and when you try to fax it shows busy? Your phone most likely has a line in use detection circuit so when a line is being used by another phone (or device) you will know to choose the other line. These detection circuits can sometimes be fooled, confused or even cause problems with other telepones.
