The user's manual is available from Apple's website if you never received one. You have to og into the men usettings and turn the shuffle off. There is only play and pause on this unit - there is no stop. It goes to sleep after 10-15 minutes by design. The right side of the clickwheel lets you select songs - the center button lets you play the songs once you have selected them. It takes a while to get used to the clickwheel, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes 2nd nature.
Greetings, There is no way to update your old Nano to play video. There is no video processing chip, and the screen is not of a high enough resolution. My second generation ipod with a black and white screen also shows the option for music videos, its just due to the iTunes software. Take Care -WN
I just had the same problem with my 2GB silver nano. I had to restore the factory settings through iTunes and reload all of my music.
There was also an update for the nano that I downloaded yesterday (Jan. 29, 2006) and installed when I restored the factory settings. My nano appears to be running fine for the moment, but we'll see if this actually took care of the problem.
