Epson LQ -590 PRINTER PROBLEM

Sir ,when i go to print some of the text jump to next page , i tried to set margins page setup
plz provide me the soulation

  • kevink07 Jul 31, 2008

    not the same but similar. have been printing 3x5 continuous pin feed cards for years on this LQ-590 with win95 up to 200 cards at a time. On its own it has started to treat printing as if 8x11 skipping 2 + cards before starting next card. doc page setup shows 3x5 and preview is correct. Also, have inexplicable paper out error in middle of print job when card sheet is obviously running fine from rear tractor feed, sheets not disconnected. Have to power off/on. Have reloaded print drivers. Any suggestions. Epson support gave me boilerplate response on realigning top of page! thanx, kevink

  1. You text page is larger than the printer page,
    margins are set wrong, or there are special
    formatting marks and/or characters at the end
    of your documents.

  2. Check default printer paper-size settings:

    START --> Printers & Faxes -> Chose printer -->
    right-click --> properties --> ....

    This sets the default settings, that are in effect every time
    an application starts up.

    Also note, that if printer settings are not listed within
    your START menu, you can find them in the Windows
    control panel. You can change what shows in the
    START menu and what doesn't by right-clicking the
    task bar.

  3. Now start your application and do the same thing under
    the file menu:

    File --> Print --> Settings ...
    File --> Printer settings ...
    File --> Page setup .... and also margins. etc...

    This sets the actual settings for this application or the
    current document. These settings over-ride the global
    default setting in item (2)
  4. To clarify, the settings in item (2) should be setup to
    reflect the way you use the printer the most often.

    The settings in item (3) reflect the actual document you
    are trying to print now.

  5. Be careful that the paper size settings (3) accurately
    reflect the paper in the machine, do not confuse
    metric sizes: A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 ....

    with English sizes: Letter, Legal,..... etc

    These do not line up exactly.

  6. Also check your document, to make sure that there
    are no extra characters at the end of your document:

    Paragraph marks, Page Brakes, Form Feeds, etc.

    Also check the paragraph settings (in Word for Windows,
    for example, to make sure that is not the cause of the
    problem.

    In word for Windows, for example, you can also go
    into tools, options and change the way your document
    is displayed, such that all formatting marks become
    visible (or click on the paragraph tool)

  7. Finally, most Windows applications offer some kind
    of print PREVIEW facility, so that you can see what
    you are going to get, before you physically print it.

I hope this solves your problem, please rate my answers.
Good luck.

By control panel set up you have to set the paper size by 8 ich to 12 inch as per the paper size you required. If once you set this paper size . there is no use by setting the paper size in printer properties or printing preferences.

When printing continuous Quicken checks with the Epson LQ-590, the first check prints perfectly but the second check prints about 2 lines lower than the first check, then the third check prints 2 lines...

It can be the margins set within the printer defaults or the margins set by Quicken. In your print preview within Quicken you should be able to see where the margins are set and adjust accordingly. Otherwise, you may need to go to your Epson's print queue and adjust the properties directly on the printer. A nice way to check it is to see if you can print some test checks to plain paper and adjust as you see fit!

Epson LQ 590 Label Problems

Make sure the option for bidirectional printing is set correctly.

Try it both ways

Make sure you are not printing too far to the left or the right - the print head can hit the end of its run and lose its place.

Epson lq590

check if your LQ590 is set for manual feedor continuous feed. There is a toggle switch somewhere near the rubber rollers,there are symbols that will indicate for continuous paper printing or manual, select manual printing. Also in your print window,select printer properties, select manual printing. Yourprinter might be set up for sheet feeder or continuous paper printing. hope this helped.

Prints one line and stops

hello,
Every printer has inside Rollers that help the transportation of the paper during printing.
When the Rollers are faulty then the paper finds it difficult to move successfully during printing.

Also there is a motor that spins to rotate the Rollers.so i think any of these may be faulty.

Try and get a printer specialist to check it for you or you can come live chat with me and i will direct you..

Good luck
