I am installing Quickbooks Pro 2005 on my Windows 7 computer. I got past the flash error but encountered a fatal error when trying to run quickbooks. Any fixes?

Try this:

  1. Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking the Start button I am installing Quickbooks Pro - 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then clickTroubleshooting. Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.

  2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

I can't reinstall my Pro 2005 because it asks for Flash 7 then the cd tells me it can't install it.

You're several versions behind with your QB Pro, and also several versions behind with the Flash Player you're trying to install.

If you're reinstalling because you upgraded your operating system version, this is likely the root cause. QB 2005 is not compatible with Windows 7; neither is Flash 7.

While you may be able to install the program using XP Mode, that isn't the most reliable way of running it. I recommend avoiding uninstalling the .net framework files and "back versioning" as a way of getting around it, because it is likely to cause problems with other functions.

You may be best off to upgrade your Quickbooks version.

Hope that's helpful.

I got this message when I tried to install the quickbooks 2005 pro. "can't install "flash player 7 from E:\third party flash 7\install_ flash_player_7". Go to http:www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer...

As the error message indicates:

Please go to:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer
and download the "Flashplayer 7.0 or Newer"

After you have downloaded/installed "Flashplayer" (A Free Program) try re-installing QuickBooks.
