Sounds like a bearing or the drive belt. Try turning the empty drum by hand. If it sounds normal you probably just need to replace the belt. If it make strange sounds when you turn it by hand then its probably the bearing.

The belt isn't a big deal but a bearing probably is.

drum rollers/glides may be the idler arm, if is located next to the motor:

ABSOLUTELY! There is a plastic piece in the back that the center ball piece on the back of the drum spins in. Thats your bearing, replace it.

My ge electricryer sqeaks very loud and makes a thumping noise. it just started a cuouple of weeks ago.

this sounds like a drum guides that need replacing soon.

This is very likely due to bad drum support rollers which is really not a difficult repair on these dryers.

Pop the top and get the front off. Get the ball of lint out the blower housing and replace the bad blower wheel.

Most likely the front drum bearing part number 5303937139 needs to be replaced. Instructions come with the kit.
