Upgrades are usually troublesome as they leave bits of the old OS in odd places. It is best to do a clean install.
Choose your OS, either Vista or Win7. XP will not work!
Always download the latest drivers for the OS you are using from hp.com or it will keep hanging and be unreliable.
Hope this helps.

Starter draw amps kohler cv16s engine

The starter windings may be shorted, that would explain the draw, if the starter is ok then the engine has really got a problem.

No display problem, vga's out to external, then after 2nd reboot, internal display works, but with errors

If you have already replaced the screen...
Common problem when replacing equipment on laptops is that the "cable" goes into a flat housing that requires you to lift a little white "gate" then insert the cable and put the "gate" back down. Problems usually occur when snapping the "gate" back down. Pull the cable back out and be sure to lift the gate insert the cable and then put the "gate" back down. Once done give it a light tug and it should hold very firm and not move at all

My powerbook g4 won't reboot. It freezes at the grey screen with the apple and won't let me log on .

Power the machine down. Press the power button, then immediately press and continue to hold the shift key. This will perform a "safe boot," skipping any of the boot-time software you may have added to your machine. If it still fails to boot, more involved diagnostics are required.

Receiver freezes every few hours

It sounds like something else may be causing an issue. Since so many replacements have been made, but the problem persists I would recommend getting a technician out to look at the problem to make sure everything else is fine.

Toshiba A105-S101 freezes at start up!

I would first attempt to reinstall the software from the install cd. Your Toshiba support page is recomending a new BIOS upgrade. See below:

Wifi switch problem

At first guess, I'd say you have a driver problem. Reboot the machine in safe mode, leaving the switch in the "ON" position. (F8 at startup for safe mode).

Log into the machine, and go to Device Manager. Uninstall/remove the wifi adapter.

Reboot.

Upon reboot, the system will attempt to reinstall the adapter, but you should not have a blue screen. If you have the original drivers, point Windows to them. You don't want Windows to use the "existing" drivers, because that's where the problem occurred.

Once the good drivers are installed, you should be back in business :)

Hope this helps - remember to rate!
