Hi ,
Unfortunaly , you can't . You need the install disc . You can retreive existing data by extracting the hdd from your desktop and connect it to a healthy computer . Format the HDD afterwards , put it back into the desktop and launch install disc .

How can I restore my emachine el1200_06w without recovery discs

Boot in safe mode (Press F8 over and over while your computer is booting up). From there, go to your device manager and roll back the driver on this device.

Device Manager is in control panel, hardware and sound, then it's at the top under Devices and Printers.

Restore emachine

Your machine has two ways of repair: SYSTEM RESTORE and SYSTEM RECOVERY. System restore is a Windows utility that rolls the machine back to a point where the machine worked before the problem. System recovery is an eMachines tool that puts the machine back the way it was when you first got it. Restore wont delete your data, recovery will and can. If the problem is catastrophic, and youve backed up your data off of the machine, use the recovery option. Your recovery partition (or a recovery disk) is needed to do this, and it involves pressing a key while the computer boots up. Check your documentation for your model of machine.

Boot manager missing

The hard drive needs to be low level formatted, fdisk'd and FAT32 formatted prior to ME install. I don't know where to get free copies, but I've used both On Track's drive manager and Acronis v10. Bothe are very good your purposes. Both retail +- $50.00

Boot Manager is missing

you can often fix it right back up using the original Vista installation disk. Which comes with a pretty extensive System Recovery Tool that's got lots of options. Set your computer to boot from DVD (using the Boot setting in the BIOS), insert the disc and restart. Vista will prompt you for language and keyboard layout options, then ask if you want to reinstall Vista or repair your installation. You want Repair. From there Vista's System Recovery Tool will take over. this is the only way to get back from the dreaded boot manager missing error.
