doesn't LC51M refer to Magenta(red) not Cyan(blue). on my J435W the colors goes as follows: BK Y C M LC71 Series cartridges. Maybe you have them switched around? just a thought.
Before installing a new toner, put a disposable towel over the ink toner exit, and shake your toner lightly back and forth and up and down. Make sure your toner cartridge is in the open position before replacing it in your printer.
If you are using a refillable ink cartridge, make sure you are resetting the cartridge using the method described by the refillable manufacturer.
If this does not answer your question please request more information before voting on my answer. I will try to find more information about your toner cartridge that will help you futher.
When the printer says "install C" it is referring to the Cyan (blue) ink cartridge. If this is not a new cartridge, you might have to replace it. If this is a new cartridge, try following these steps.
1. Unplug the power cable. 2. Remove all 4 ink cartridges. 3. Close the ink cover 4. Plug the power back in. 5. Wait for the machine to warm up and tell you that the ink is empty. 6. Reinsert all 4 ink cartridges.
If you keep getting the same message you should try another cartridge. You can put the yellow cartridge in the blue spot to see if you get the same message. If you get the same message then the machine is broken. If you get a new message then the cyan cartridge needs to be changed.
Look on the right side where the cartridge goes, if the spring on the right is hanging loose it might have poked a hole in the ribbon cable at the rear near the contacts. If so it's time for a new printer, if OK, check the exp. date on the ink cartridge and if it's been refilled or a generic ink you may just need another one.
If by "just changed the ink "you are trying to say that you have just recharged you printer's cartridge then don't put this question to yourself because this happens when the printer figures out that the cartridge is not original!
The machine most likely want you to change one (or more) of the other cartridges too. By opening the top cover and reading the display when it is opened, you should get an error indicating which cartridge to change, it most likely isn't the black one it is alarming about, but rather one of the not-changed ones.
If you are using a generic cartridge it very well could be the problem. Because some manufacturers have a chip in the cartridge that feeds information to the printer.
With a generic cartridge this chip will sometimes malfunction or have not been reset correctly (if it is a refill). If you can try returning the cartridge or exchange it. Give it another go and see if a new cartridge will work for you.
