Ok so i got a G1, and the problem is it wont turn on. even when i charge it, it wont turn on. The farthest it goes it to opening where it says G1 and then it turns off after that. Whats wrong with it, do i...

Try hard resetting it once. But make sure you have enough charge. But this will erase everything.

To perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn the phone off. If it is frozen, take the battery out and put it back in.
  2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle.
  3. Press Alt+L.
  4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset.
  5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds.

My t-mobile g1 keeps randomly turning off and wont turn back on unless i put it to a charger but then when it comes back on the battery life is fine. it only happens when calling people, listening to...

Hi,

I believe this could be a battery, well we have the same phone and all process you take note sounds like it was my problem before.

Why is this things happening?

Battery can be easily damage due to improper usage like charging the phone while calling, listening to music, browsing etc. two current supply is entering your phone simultaneously. One is coming from the battery powered and the other is coming on the dc charger.the result, it will make your battery deform.

Just replace it a new one and for sure it will be fine again. But please avoid or minimized using your phone while on charge. To be able to preserve your battery life for long time usage.

Hope this simple guide helps you. Thank you for visiting FixYa....

1. completely turn of phone unplug charger.
2. take and put battery back in phone and plug charger.
3. hold hit camera button and power buton. phone will come on if the update was washed it will come straight on. if not you will see the blue LED dont worry yet. just keep holding for 15 sec.
4. while phone blue LED is still on hit and hold (drum Role) menu and track ball for 15 sec.
5. now unplug charger and take out battery. wait 10 sec
6. now put battery back in and leave charger off. and turn on. unless you was in middle of update and hardware failed this WILL bring your G1 back up and running.
