Kenmore dishwasher elite door opens too fast, broken spring?

The door spring can be seen on the side of the frame just below the bottom of the door. If the spring has just popped off you can put it back easily when the door is open. If the spring has become weak, you can get a new one from an appliance parts store or online.

there are springs with cables in most dishwashers i never had that problem but i did replace one spring that had broken. making it fall to fast. its no to hard if your handy. most appliance parts stors if there good should be able to help if they can be adjusted

Door springs are located at the left and right side of the door bottom. You will have to pull the unit a few inches from the installed location to see them. If broken, replace. If one slipped off, reattach.

It sounds like your door springs are broken, at the top of the dishawasher you will find 2 screws that attatch it to the counter top, take them out and slide the dishwasher a few inches forward, this will allow you to see if your springs are broken. If so you can order new ones at marcone.com w/ your model #

Yes its probably the little latch that holds the door closed thats worn out.

From your description even when the soap dispenser opens it is opening late which is why all the soap does not dissolve.

Try adding only half as much soap and see if it opens then - even a little spilled soap catching on that little latch mechanism can cause it to be difficult to close and stick opening.

Also make sure that the spring that controls the door is not broken.
