HOW TO REPAIR MISSING OR DAMAGE FILES

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS APPLY TO BOTH LAPTOP AND DESKTOP COMPUTERS.

Hi there if your computer has missing files or a file is corrupt and you need to repair the damage file, you can do this by using a recovery disk for the computer if you have one. If you do not have a recovery disk for the computer you can use the operating system disk to repair it, please follow these steps: insert the operating system disk into the CD/DVD drive, restart the computer, press F12 and choose boot from CD save and exit. While the computer is loading it will ask you to press any key to boot from CD, so you will press any key, a blue screen will appear while its loading, when it get to the first set of options you will press enter to continue. when it get to the second set of options it will ask you to install the operating system or repair it, choose repair and follow the steps from there, once you choose repair, the computer will go through different stages. The next step is to enter the keys for the operating system the computer will continue until it finish the repairs and this should solve the problem of missing files. But you should backup your files before doing this even though no files should be lost but its better to backup just in case something goes wrong. Backing up the file is always an important part of having a computer, you should also create a recovery CD and this can be done during the process of backing up your computer files. The back up files should be store on one or more DVDs or other storage device and this along with the recovery CD should be store in a safe and dry place. The purpose of the recovery CD is to repair damage or missing files on the computer and each computer require its own back up and recovery disk to repair the problem.

I have viruses on my notebook and can not access any programmes now there is a screen that says Missing operating system how can i repair this

> Missing Operating System

Either the disk-drive ('C:') containing the Operating System is "dead" -- nothing can be read from the disk-drive, and so Windows cannot be loaded.

Or, the computer-virus has overwritten the very first part of the Operating System that is stored on the disk-drive.

In the former case, either exercise the WARRANTY to get the "dead" disk-drive repaired, or replace the disk-drive yourself, and reinstall Windows 7.

In the latter case, boot your computer from the Windows 7 disk, and choose "Repair the existing installation", to see if that will "refresh" the destroyed start-up files.

When i power on the laptop it says "please install windows in your hard disk " but when i reboot it 5-6 times it loads the windoes automaticaaly . please help

Hi, This problem usually occurs when your HDD or your Hard Disk Drive is showing signs of bad sector. I would suggest that you run this command in Command prompt to check the integrity of your file system. its not loading normally because it is sensing from problems with the files. > click start > run > cmd > hit enter.. on command line type "sfc /scannow" after hitting enter you will see a progress bar. Any corrupt, missing or incorrect files would be replaced by this process. If this option doesn't work, you could try to run a checkdisk to see if there is a bad sector in the hard drive. heres how:
  • go to my computer
  • right-click local disk c: and choose properties
  • go to tools tab
  • then click error checking
  • a box will appear and you have 2 choices
  1. Automatically Fix file system errors
  2. Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check boxes
After clicking on start a window will appear telling you that you need to restart the computer to run the Check Disk before loading windows to check the windows file. click yes and then wait for the reboot and check disk to start.
It may be a long process but it will definitely inform you what is wrong with your computer.
Hope this would help you.
Cheers!!

Ntldr is missing

Check the connection between the hard drive and the motherboard. When you get the NTLDR warning, it is telling you that the hard drive is not being read. There maybe a failure with the hard drive itself.

This problem may occur if the basic input/output system (BIOS) on your computer is outdated, or if one or more of the following Windows boot files are missing or damaged: Ntldr
Ntdetect.com
Boot.ini To resolve this issue, verify that the BIOS on your computer is current, and then use one or more of the following methods, as appropriate to your situation, to repair the Windows 2000 startup environment.
Verify That the BIOS on the Computer Is Current loadTOCNode(3, 'summary'); Make sure that the latest revision for BIOS is installed on the computer. Contact the computer manufacturer to inquire about how to obtain, and then install the latest BIOS update that is available for the computer.
Method 1: Use a Boot Disk to Start the Computer loadTOCNode(3, 'summary');
  1. Create a Windows 2000 boot disk that contains the following files: Ntldr
    Ntdetect.com
    Boot.ini
Ntbootdd.sys For more information about how to create a boot disk, click the following article numbers to view the articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 301680 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/301680/ ) How to create a boot disk for an NTFS or FAT partition in Windows 101668 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/101668/ ) How to use a Windows boot disk to prevent boot failure
  2. Modify the Boot.ini file to point to the correct hard disk controller and to the correct volume for your Windows installation. Missing Operating System

Hi!

Dont worrie M8, all files can be saved if the disk is ok
I suggest you run the installation again, but when it comes to reinstall or repaire you select "REPAIRE", then the os will try to repair your system and not reinstall it, that will keep all things on the disk. If that dosent work you have to remove the disk, connect it to another pc/laptop and move the files she dont want to loose. Then put the disk back and reinstall it from the begining.
If you dont know how to connect it to another pc or have the needed cables to do it, i sugest you take the disk to a pc-repaire shop and ask them to help you save the files. They will copy all the files you want and store them on a cd/dvd/memostick. They can even tace a copy of the whole disk if you want.

Good luck

Hi all was ok in till i removed my hard drie affter i shut down the system and turn it off i removedthe hard drive now system will not boot back up it will power on but wont boot up ive unpluged everything...

hi im josh in cebu phils.may i help you? friend try to do this things. first i suggest to change new ide or sata cable.if still persist.try the following:
Boot order: Traditionally, a computer is set to boot first from the floppy drive, and then from the main hard drive (Drive C). This means that the computer will check the floppy drive first for boot files. If there is no disk in the floppy drive, the computer will then go to the hard drive to look for boot files. That is why if you leave a non-bootable floppy disk in the drive and try to boot up, you'll get an error message such as "NTLDR is missing. Press any key to restart." or "Non-system disk or disk error." This can be changed to pretty much any order, including CD and DVD drives. It is useful when installing Windows on a new or just-formatted computer to set the computer to boot first from a CD-ROM drive, and then insert the Windows installation CD-ROM into that drive. This saves you from having to use boot floppies that might or might not come with the Windows CD-ROM. Good luck.

Can not start windows

A 0xc000000f error indicates a missing or corrupt winload.exe file.

You can try accessing the BIOS and setting all local disks (hard drives) to autodetect, which may or may not fix the error. (I can't confirm since I don't have Vista... Vista is as bad as Windows ME, people, do not upgrade if you have a choice... and you always have a choice!!!)

The only other option at the moment is to get a hold of an installation disk somehow. For that you'd probably have to take it to a local repair shop since stupid PC distributors have stopped shipping the installation disks with new computers.
