You would reset it just as you would reset the bios password on a pc. Remove cover to dvr to gain access to the inside of the unit. On the main board you will see a cr2032 battery. Remove the battery, power up the unit ( with battery out) and once the unit powers on it will say " system reset please power off". After powering the unit back off re-install the battery, power the unit back on and the system in now reset.

Does it recognize the hard drive? is the jumper on the back of the drive set on master? Jumper should be all the way to the left. Hard drive also has to be locked in the dvr for it to power up.

To me it looks like a bug, if I change the year back to 2003 the clock works again...
