I have a Proview LCD TV model # PA-32JK1A. When I plug in the TV, the orange standby light comes on like usual. When I turn on the TV (with the remote or the front panel) the blue power light will come on but all I see are a few (6 or 7) thin bluish white vertical lines on the dark (but properly backlit) screen. The backlights are obviously on but there is no video or audio signal. There is some slight white noise coming out of the speakers but it is not a real audio signal since it is not at all affected by the volume control or inputs. I have tried all of the various inputs (dvd, vga, audio in etc.) but there is no change in the screen or the audio from the speakers. I have tried to switch the input mode or bring up the menu with the remote and with the front panel buttons with absolutely no effect. The only buttons on the remote or the front panel that do anything are the power buttons. I opened the back panel to inspect the circuit boards and found no obvious burn marks or bulging/leaking capacitors. I tested all the pico fuses I could find on all of the different circuit boards and they all tested OK. I checked the power supply output voltages with a voltmeter and found 5, 12, and 24 volts on the various lines where it looked like it should have voltage, but without a schematic I couldnt be sure if each was correct. I suspected it might be the TCON board from some of the stuff I've read but I am not an expert and the audio problems make me doubt that diagnosis. I tested the surface mounted fuse on the Tcon board and measured 5VDC on either side while the tv was powered up and on so I'm assuming it's at least getting some power. When I unplug the main input connector to the TCON board the thin white lines disappear but there is still no video or audio signal and the backlights stay on. When I unplug the left output ribbon from the TCON board (to the left side of the LCD Screen), the white lines disappear from that side of the screen only but remain on the opposite and the backlights all stay on. Same sorta thing happens when I unplug only the right TCON output ribbon. I also tried testing the audio while the tcon board and the inverter board were unplugged and the tv on but it made no difference, still no audio. Apparently I can get a new TCON board for about $100 including the shipping but I would like a second opinion before I start ordering and swapping new parts. TCON board part # V320B1-C03 Same part is also found in WESTINGHOUSE SK-32H540S. Any help, tips, suggestions, links to schematic diagrams etc would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Joe.

Before we start taking things apart, lets try your simple remove power plug routine and power system back up. Also, please try your unit on a few different channels to see if your problem continues on each channel. Your Main Board, Power Board, T-Control Board are suspected problems at this time. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, the unit should power down by itself after you have powered it on. If it does not, then do not be concerned. Let me know if the problem continues. The first link below will bring you directly to the troubleshooting guide if you need to continue forward with the same error. Lets focus on the external portion of the TV set first (95 percent of all TV problems are related to things EXTERNAL To the tv itself) Check the physical CONNECTION of all cables by removing each wire bare or RCA and reinstalling it (Each power cable as well), once you have removed one cable, check it for fraying, and if it is already bare, splice a new fresh connection for it. 5. Check to make sure there are NO OTHER uneeded radios, system nearby. these systems, when powered on, will cause electromagnetic interference and prevent more than just severe tv interference SURGE PROTECTOR Surge protectors account for more than 75 percent of electric faults to stereo equipment. Lets start with your AC Wall outlet. It is standard in america that 220 Volts from out of these outlets. This implies that each device will be using 220 Volts (From within that grid zone). If anything including an alarm clock is plugged into any AC outlet socket in the vicinity of the stereo equipment/TV, it will cause electric outage, and prevent electronics from even turning on! Your TV needs dedicated electric power. If your TV is located in the living room then unplug everything else in the living room. Lets plug the TV set into a Dedicated socket. Check all light switches to ensure that power is on for that outlet. Check the TV cable for Fraying both on the ac wall end and where it plugs into the TV. Check all GFCI outlets to ensure that all red reset buttons are pushed in, check the circuit breakers for proper connection and they are turned on. Now, lets try the TV set without it connected to any cable services, vcr, dvd, stereo system, etc. Please respond if we have found a solution.

When troubleshooting these units, there are always several variables to consider. First check to see what last occurred with the unit such as did the children play video games, did the electricity go out due to bad weather. You may see that there are many possibilities but let's focus on what occurred last to the unit. Once we determine what happened last, we may isolate the actual cause of the problem. The actual cause may be associated with projection issues, older versions (Picture tube), interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common with the error you have provided today. Please continue to look for anything EXTERNAL to the unit before looking at the internal components. I have been working on these a long time so feel free to follow up with me.

I could not fully understand your description. Can you please ge tme an image so that I can see for myself what it looks like?

Replace the RCA component video cable.Should work after that, not yes the cable box.Should reboot the cable box buy unplug, replug it an hour later or call the cable company for the replacement box.

if you take the back off of it (only 3 big black screws)
and look at the yellow motherboard (power inverter)
on the top - left most connector
there is at the top of it one red wire in the convector
the pin it touches will be singed because of a bad confection arching electricity. clean the pin with 600-800 grit sandpaper
put it back together and you will have one working tv

Hi, I just read what you have posted on my LCD TV troubleshooting guide, it does not sound like bad T-CON board because you do not get the sound, you disconnected the main T-CON connector from the main board and get the glowing screen but you still do not hae sound.
In the LCD TV, you can discoonect the backlights inverter board power cables (cables from power supply to the backlights inverter board), and the T-CON board cables from the the main board to the T-CON, you should still get the sound since there are no feedback singals from the T-CON or from the backlights inverter boards to tell the main board that they are bad or not.
If you are 100% sure that you do not have sound on all the input modes then I would suspect the main board problem.
At least the backlights ineverter is good.
Do you get the 12v at the T-CON board surface mounted fuse?

I need to repair darfon inverter v183 from my tv. It is presenting a White screen and I have checked the voltage control of backlight and it is tripping between limits. I suspect the feedback voltage for the OZ960G si missing, so the controller keeps the bright screen. But I have no schematics of it, this is why I am asking for it
