When i try to set up my new 3g mobile bbroadband wireless-n router the computer ask me for a pin number that sopposed to be in the back of the router and already try all the numbers that i can found and it...

This is a common issue with Windows 7. To get around this issue, try the following steps.
  • Click the Network icon, located on the right of the taskbar near the time. It should look like a computer monitor.
  • Locate the Wireless network you want to connect to and highlight it and click connect.
  • At this point you should be given two options: "Setup the Network connection now" or "No, connect to the network anyhow.
"
You want to select the option for "No, connect to the network anyhow"
  • This will bypass the requirement of a PIN, which is not supplied with these routers.

I cant figure out where the pin number

Are you trying to connect to the wireless network on a WINDOWS VISTA / 7 computer? Sometimes on the windows vista computer , it will ask you for the PIN number when you try to connect to the wireless network. On the same window at the bottom you will find the option " I want to connect to the network or I want to enter the key manually". If you click on that option , it will ask you for the security key.
If you don't know the security key, then you will need to check the settings of the router. You will need to open the router set up page where you can check all the wireless settings of teh router. If you want, you can also find the PIN on the wireless settings page of the router.
If you are trying to connect any other wireless device to the network and it is asking you for the PIN then you will need to open the set up page of the router and under wireless settings you will find PIN.

We just added a second laptop to our home network and in setting up the laptop for wireless it asked for a pin number for our linksys wireless router but the pin number is not on the unit and we don't have...

Yes this is very straight forward

open internet explorer on your computer which is connected to wireless router.

browse to your gateway address. The default for linksys is usually http://192.168.1.1

then it will ask for username and password

linksys default username: (leave this blank)
linksys default password: admin

if that doesn't work try username: admin
password: admin

Once logged into console you should be able to see wireless security settings

Click on that and it will take you through to a page with your security settings on there you will see a wireless key or network key or wireless passphrase.

simply make a note of the key as its written. (If the password is masked or *********** out ) which is the case on some of the newer linksys devices you can simply overtype the password with a new one, bear in mind that you will have to then update any clients that normally connect to the wireless network with the new password. So thats all computers, laptops, DS's Wii's Playstations & Xbox's.

******I'd STRONGLY recommend you DO NOT change the wireless password / security key over wireless you should always do it using an RJ45 ETHERNET cable connected to your computer and the router. *********

Thanks

I want to add a wireless laptop to my exsisting broadband moderm

Hello...you can find your network key within your router settings.

Here's a rough guide:

1. Type your router IP address, eg http://192.168.0.1 or whatever is correct for your model, into a web browser address bar

2. Enter your router username and/or password at the prompt. The defaults for D-Link are username: admin and password left blank: but if you have set a router password/username, please enter these.

3. In the router user interface, go to the section headed Home > Wireless. Your network key will be here, labelled Pre-shared key or similar.

This Dlink tutorial has some helpful screenshots.

Hope this helps; however, please come back to Fixya if this doesn't work or if you need more information.

Try to setup home wireless network to share two home computer

Connect the home wireless network router box to the main PC through an ethernet cable with the PC powered off and the home wireless router powered off, then power on the PC & the router. Vista should locate the new wireless network and follow the windows vista network setup procedures. After the wireless network has been detected you then while the second PC's power is shut off you connect dongle adapter to the PC power on and XP will locate the new adapter. You will probably have to enter your networks pin for the connection.
