Posted on Jan 21, 2011

Hi, I have an Optoma 1690 which has strobing - standby/on, temp and lamp lights. This happens as soon as it is plugged into power. Then after doing this for about 5 min, on the stanby light flashes once a second. All lights strobing, then only standy light flashes. What is the meaning of this please. Max

Why won't my Optoma DV10 projector won't turn on?

On an Optoma DV10 if its not the lamp timer, then it might be a cooling fan that needs replacing. Take out the old one, and look-up its part number online. If you don't feel confident taking it apart, have a qualified person do this.

Optoma ep 1690, the on/standby led is flashing green but when I try to turn it on the temp and lamp led's flash twice and nothing happens, the on/standby continues to flash green.

The projector lamp life may have exceeded its safe limit, check your instruction manual, sometimes you have to hold the on or off button for 10 seconds to reset this. All manufacturers are different but that may be the problem.

Here is a copy of the manual, I havn't read it, my solution is from experience of other projectors.
