Kenmore oven giving F1 error code. Oven not working, but stove is working.

you're correct about the control board being the issue. I would first get in-home assistance from home depot to help get the proper part number before making your order. And then you can order through kenmore.

Most of the answers are correct, the EOC (Electronic Oven Control) is either damaged or shorted. I've also seen the F1 code come up on the version 2 and 3 units when the temperature probe was shorted. But most likely your EOC is damaged and needs to be replaced. Since you didn't give us a model number we can't give you any more info. Good luck

If it's a Whirlpool or Kenmore oven (or one of several other brands that are made by Whirlpool) then this error code means:

F1 - E1 Safety flip flop Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC)


The system believes that the control board has failed and needs to be replaced.

According to the manual, the self cleaning latch could be stuck.

If the oven door is open, press STOP/CLEAR to clear display, then depress and hold switch plunger for 6 seconds (Located in the upper right corner of the oven front) and the oven door will unlock.

If the oven door is locked, press STOP/CLEAR to clear the display then apply pressure to the upper right corner of the oven door and the door will unlock. If the "F" code reappears, contact a Sears trained repair specialist.
