Hi,
There's a big possibility that the Hard Drive cable is loose or already broken or the HDD itself, try to reseat the connection of the Hard Drive if nothing happens, please do send me a reply ASAP.
Hope this will help... Your response is very much appreciated...
Hey,
Thanks for the help. I have removed the hard drive and refitted it but nothing changed.
Will I need to buy a new hard drive?
Thanks
hi,
Thanks for the reply, since its asking for the Boot Disc, i believe the operating System that you have is already corrupted, Do you have the recovert disc that came with the computer? I believe you will need to reinstall the Operating System... Just insert the disc and boot from the disc itself...
Hope this will help... Your response is very much appreciated...

By the sound of the message, your hard drive broke when you dropped it. You can open the hard drive door (should be on the bottom help in by a screw) and re-seat the connector to see if it just got loose. You will likely have to purchase a new hard drive and reinstall your operating system. If there is data you really need off the hard drive you can call a data recovery service to try and salvage what's left on the hard drive, but it will likely cost in the hundreds of dollars range.
Hope this helps, and thank you for using FixYa!
